How to handle big wins?

I recently went on a little run of positive variance... finally! However, now I am faced with a different problem. I've made a total of about 250 units profit at the same casino in 3 consecutive days. What is the best way to go about this in terms of longevity? Should I cash in all my chips at the end of my play session or just save some chips. I have been keeping some chips with me and cashing a few to make it to where I don't attract a lot of attention at the cashier station. But I'm thinking maybe this is pointless as I do color up before I leave the table so the pit knows how much I made. So what do you guys usually do?

Eh, people are unnecessarily paranoid about heat. But I need to know a little more detail about the situation. Were they $5 units, $10 units, $25 units etc...? Also, was the casino crowded? Were there a lot of ploppies at the tables or were you playing during an uncrowded time/graveyard shift? If you were there during a crowded time, you're unlikely to build heat unless you were in the HL room. If it wasn't during a crowded time, then it depends on the unit and bet spread. If your top bet is under $100, have fun playing with practically no cover plays (standing on 16 when count merits this will be sufficient). Always save some chips, it takes less time to exchange money for chips when you've got 20 units already on you. When you're on a streak feel free to rathole a couple chips.

You're going about this all backwards. Pocket some green chips (called ratholing) and don't color them up. This way when you do color up, the pit will record you having a lesser win or even a loss. And cash all your chips in during the same visit. This shouldn't be a problem unless you have a very large win such as $10,000 or more. You can take your chips to different cashier stations or make 2 or more trips to a window if you want, but there really isn't any reason to take chips home with you. You never know when you may get trespassed. There have been several stories of patrons leaving a casino w/o experiencing any heat, but upon returning at a later date they are read the trespass act before they enter the building. In short: The cashier window is not your enemy, the pit is!

I mixed it up on both the 10 and 25 limit tables. I bet over 200 on max bet... so that is why i am concerned about heat as I did have a significant upswing and I was using a pretty big spread. The table was not crowded... and I think that is why I did so well as I was getting more hands in the shoe and at one point playing 1 on 1 with the dealer. I did get some looks from the pit and I left after the shoe.

I see ur point about cashing out the chips after the session as you never know what might happen your next visit. Is there any way to rathole without drawing attention though. I've always felt that ratholing while you're winning will attract more attention to your play from the pit to where they will watch your play with more scrutiny and may discover that you're an AP. PM me if you have any comment.

Ploppies rathole chips all the time. Just don't try to look like you're trying to get away with something. It's usually easy to do during the shuffle or when taking a potty break or when using your phone. In fact if you're leaving the table you can take all your chips off the table for "safety" reasons and then simply don't return all the chips to the table.

I disagree. Most back offs occur at the cashiers window, and it is where they can get a straight on photograph of your face.

If you play at this place a lot then keep chips. Cash out less than 2,500 either before you play or on days when you are not playing at all. If you do get backed off do not go to the cage. Leave immediately and have someone else cash your chips or go back a week later and cash them.
