How to make better decision for TC -1 to +2?

#1
In Illustrious 18, only 2 cases is are in the range of TC -1 to +1, namely:
Stand at 16 vs 10 when TC > 0
Double at 12 vs 4 when TC < 0

Even extending to TC +2, there are only 2 more cases:
Double at 11 vs 11 when TC > 1
Double at 9 vs 2 when TC > 1

I am playing online live dealer games and the shoe penetration is poor. Based on my experience, over 80% time TC will be within -1 to +2. Yes, I understand that it is not profitable to count cards online, but I am just playing for fun. I understand that Illustrious 18 is probably more profitable to memorize, but for fun I want to memorize something that are used more frequently instead. Are there more alter to the basic strategy to improve performance within the range of TC-1 to +2?

First, you are making a BIG mistake by Doubling 12 vs 4 at TC > 0
This is a Standing index. You should Stand 12 vs 4 at TC >= 0 and Hit at TC < 0

Second, there is more index in the -1 to +2 range using Ill-18 as published in BJA3 (no taking into account Surrender).
9 vs 2 >= +1 Double otherwise Hit
13 vs 2 >= -1 Stand otherwise Hit
12 vs 6 >= -1 Stand otherwise Hit

You want to add a few...
12 vs 3 >= +2 Stand otherwise Hit
9 vs 3 >= -1 Double otherwise Hit
8 vs 6 >= +2 Double otherwise Hit
A8 vs 5 >= +1 Double otherwise Stand
A8 vs 6 >= +1 Double otherwise Stand in S17 games and at TC >= 0 in H17 games
A7 vs 2 >= 0 Double otherwise Stand
A6 vs 2 >= >= +1 Double otherwise Hit

And finally, remember that your Doubling index for 11 vs A >= +1 is for S17 games. If you're playing a H17 game it goes down to TC >= -1 for Doubling.

To be completely correct, you should stand when TC >= 0. This will increase the frequency of this play for you and increase your EV.

This is the kind of question which will be answered by the work that Don Schlesinger and I are currently doing. For a particular game and conditions which index plays are most valuable and by how much? This online game with its poor penetration will not be covered in the published work, but I hope to make the software available at some point.

Coming at this from a broader perspective, it'd probably be more worth your time to find dealers/sites which deal faster, or cut deeper. Improving either of those even a little will almost certainly get you more benefit than another dozen indexes.

For making money, I agree with you, and therefore one should not try to count card in online casino as the best penetration you can find is half the shoe and other players is always slow.

But for fun (and sometimes bonus hunting), it feels better to memorize something you can actually use more frequently.
