So you're saying 26 cards are dealt (half a deck), and the remaining 5.5 decks are shuffled? That game would not be beatable.

:eek:If the first 24 cards dealt are 2 through 6, wong in and bet 50X. lol That's about the only way I can see beating this game.

If you're talking about a 50% penetration and a house edge of 0.08%, then yes;if they let you get away with a 50-1 spread you will beat this game quite nicely. With a house edge of 0.08%, and 1/2 deck dealt (8% penetration),a 50-1 spread would probably still mathematically beat the game, but the win rate would be extremely tiny and not worth your time, unless of course an expectation of something like 20 cents an hour is right up your alley.

You could start raising as soon as the RC turned slightly positive. Also i imagine the number of players could be the deciding factor. For instance, you could spread to 7 hands on the last round if the RC count were positive. Id say it would break you even anyway along with a couple borderline indices.

Well, I am not so sure this is unbeatable. I am on the wrong location to run a sim right now, but I think It could be beaten pretty easily. With a regular game with a house edge of .50 you need a big spread because the player will only have an advantage a small percentage of hands and you need to bet big to overcome all those other hands that the house has an advantage. With a house edge of only .08, as soon as the running count goes positive, even +1 or +2, the advantage is going to swing from the house to the player. So the player will have an advantage a much higher percentage of time. Maybe like 40% of hands. So If you bet higher on those hands the game would be a winner. Probably as little as a 1-3 spread would make it a winner. May not be worthwhile. But I would think 1-10 and definately 1-50 could make it worthwhile. The problems of course would be huge variance which would require a huge BR and too much down time making for too few actual hands. Again, I would like to see a sim though. :confused:

After running a few sims I found that a TC+1 or higher was achieved only 3.65% of the time with TC 0 @ ~60.3% and TC-1 @~33.8% of the time.

The bet spread is tc0=1x1u, tc1=2x25u

If you know the Zender story then you know through exploitable means this game is beatable. If your war chest is full of other special weapons then you have the means to beat this game. If your straight counting then pure luck needs to be on your side the day you take this game on. I stopped the sim short due to the pitiful results.

Here's the best result I came up with. 0.5/6d, das, s17, rsa4, rs4, 3:2bj.
One note, your HE should be +0.08% otherwise as (-0.08) the player would always have the advantage, correct?

I guess he's talking about a CSM game! Perhaps he's talking about some Macao casinos, you can find HE=0.08% there.

I do not think this is reliable .>=+1 achieved mere 3.65 % but -1 at 33.8 %. The frequency of +1 should be about equal to the frequency of -1.

I believe the average pre-round HiLo RC is always negative due to the way blackjack is dealt so I think there is a preponderance of negative RCs particularly when a cut card is used. However, it's hard to believe count frequency would be <= -1 ~3.6%, = 0 ~60%, >= +1 ~36.4%.

Pre-round is when player must determine bet size. I think post shoe, when all rounds are dealt, would pretty much match the calculated RC count frequencies.

unless I am reading your sentence incorrectly X >=+1 should say (a true count X is greater then or equal to TC +1, 3.6% of the time and X<=-1 36.4% of the time.

look back at my original post which shows the sims TC frequencies ( the green background attachment). This is taken directly from the CVData sim I ran.

I think you guys are missing one critical factor, when you use flooring of the indices all those tiny positive 10 digit numbers you posted in the probability figures (+0.670394857 etc) are floored to TC 0 when using it in the sim.
and all those neg (-0.678019878 etc) are floored to TC -1.

I guess you're talking about TC floored whereas I am showing RC and pen which can be computed to TC and rounded, say to 1 decimal place or it could be floored or grouped any way that is seen fit.

I was going to mention something to that effect but after I ran my program and entered the data it was time for me to leave for work, so I just left my post as it was with my initial impression.

The RC probabilities I posted would apply if from 1 to 26 cards from a full 6 deck shoe were randomly exposed and counted by a HiLo counter. Other counting systems could be similarly displayed and also other penetrations.

ok, after a good night sleep I looked back at your numbers and see that you are basically confirming what my first post stated, seeing a TC +1 or greater will occur ~ 1.5% (my sim result was ~3.65%) of the time just prior to the cut card point of 26 cards, otherwise the TC will be = to or less than 0 98.5% of the time when the counts are floored.

If you moved the cut card to the 13th card (played just a 1/4d per 6d game) we may see a "floored" TC+1 or greater less then 1% of the time. This would probably be in the realm of playing against a CSM game.

After taking into account the flooring you written, based on either actual experience or logic, the frequency of TC +1 or more is significantly more than 3.65.

The probability given by kc of a RC + 6 is 3.5%.The probability of RC +7 is 2.4%. These two already makes it about 6%

The numbers you quote above are on the last round of play which is the 26th card dealt, and thats if the last round ends once the 26th card is dealt. In essence a RC+6 is achieve 3.5% of the time when the 26 card is dealt. Your not considering all the hands/rounds where the percentage is lower or zero.

If you look at the RC +6 when the 9th card is dealt the RC+6 is acheived only 1% of the time. There is never a RC of +6 in the first 5 cards. What I believe you should do is average all the RC+6's probabilities and see what percentage of the time you see a RC+6. I came out with 1.79%. I would consider the results of my posted sim as accurate. (look at the TC distribution image in green)

If you add up all the RC greater then +6 which appear to be a rarity, I would guesstimate that you will come closer to my average 3.65% for all TC =>+1 then your single RC example which is taken from the extreme end.

Are there any other opinions out there from the math guys?

I get your point now. However, I believe the OP was looking for info on the 26th cards all played at one go as in a CSM.
