I don't entirely agree here. Restaurant owners make lots of profit off of your meals, yet you still (presumably) tip the waiters. When a casino makes money, they don't usually give some of that money to the dealers as bonuses. I'm curious what in your mind the ideological difference is between dealers and bartenders? I'm not saying I always tip, but just to say that you don't tip the dealers because the casino executives make money isn't really a sound argument.nunchakyo said:They have the advantage most of the time anyway, and rake in tons of cash so I dont believe in giving them anymore than i have to, and that goes for the "lowly" dealers.
Tipping the waitresses and waiters and bartenders is differant, but i cant see tippin the dealers.
Irrelevant; the casino isn't getting that money. The dealers are.nunchakyo said:As far as tipping is concerned, I don't believe in tipping the dealers. The casino doesn't tip you if you lose, so why bother tipping them when you win. They have the advantage most of the time anyway, and rake in tons of cash so I dont believe in giving them anymore than i have to, and that goes for the "lowly" dealers. I mean there the only ones at the table guranteed to make money since there on the clock and working for the man, and when i'm at the casino im tryin to bring the man down. ha. Tipping the waitresses and waiters and bartenders is differant, but i cant see tippin the dealers.

Very True, when you look at it that way my arguement is kinda kaput, but i still stand by it. A while back ago my uncle was playin at the blackjack and hold em tables and was up $800 bucks, now i dont know if he can count or not but i do know he knows how to play right, and he said that at the blackjack table they took out the dealer and replaced him with a relief dealer but shortly afterwards management came up to him and told him he was getting too drunk and rowdy and was gonna have to quit playin. Now i know they have the right to kick you out based on whatever they want, and yes my uncle is a drinker, but as far from rowdy as you can get, a "gentle giant happy go lucky drunk" are the words to explain him. (and yes my uncle is a tipper, he always leaves a nice tip when were leavin a resturant, and ive watched him tip bartenders and such so id bet he would tip a dealer a few times, but ive never played with him so im not certain) now who knows for sure if the dealer had a part in getting him kicked out, but i believe so, so im not gonna be tippin the guy who has a hand in getting me kicked out of a winning game. yes he was just probably doing his job, but its still him against the player, thats how i justify not tippin the dealers.
You're not a wee bit cynical, are you?Guynoire said:Remember never to tip the dealers, only bribe them under certain circumstances. If someone else is tipping your bribe will be less effective so don't do it.

I am a dealer and it is okay to be cheap and tip just a little trust me alittle is better then nothing. If the dealer does not seem appricative then do not tip that dealer agian, that is why splitting tips sucks. We keep our own tips where i work.
tips is gratuity for good service, do u tip food servers, bell hops, vallet?
MOST IMPORTANT if u are a counter, and dont tip i will put the heat on and notify the floorman of my suspicions, cuz most dealers cant do this but I can keep a running count while i deal and I do it about 70-80% of the time, mostly for practice.
If you loose I understand but if u are counter and i dump to u (dealer term for giving out lots of money) I will notify my floorman that u are counting if you are a stanly (dealer term for person who does not tip). so be a cheap smuck if u want but good luck if u come to my table. If u get banned from my casino a memo with your pic and info will be sent to other casinos.
Advice on how to tip. Put the tip on top of your bet and if you win give it to the dealer or then bet it for the dealer. ex u bet 5 dollars and want to tip the dealer put 1 dollar on top of your five if you win give the winning dollar to the dealer and keep your dollar, maybee if the dealer is nice use that same dollar to tip the dealer again. that simple if you loose well u lost 6 instead of 5 you will be alright.
one more note even if you wong i will catch on trust me i also use that method, not verry hard to catch on to when u know what to look for.
If u are a decent person and treat me fairlly no worries, but i will not cheat for u and i will stop tipping a dealer if i think they are purpossley cheating for me, u do not want the casino to cheat u.
and to thoose that posted about dealers not being able to get a decent job dealling is decent job, most casinos require u go to school and be certified first, second off I got 3 degrees 2 AA and 1 ba, served in the US Army and Navy, so i could have other options but i like dealing cus i like gambling, so do not knock any one who does an honest days of work.
