I'm going to look like a newb for saying this, but the I18 indices on bj math don't say which actions the indices indicate for us to do. I assume some are for doubling, others for splitting etc, but should it be obvious which are which?
(for High-Low Count)
I18 Play High-Low Index Number
Insurance +3 take insurance (you normally would not below tc=3)
16 vs 10 0 stand instead of hit
15 vs 10 4 stand instead of hit
10,10 vs 5 5 split instead of stand
10,10 vs 6 4 split instead of stand
10 vs 10 4 double down (especially if dealer peeks)
12 vs 3 2 stand instead of hit
12 vs 2 3 stand instead of hit
11 vs Ace 1 double instead of hit
9 vs 2 1 double instead of hit
10 vs Ace 4 double instead of hit (dealer peeks)
9 vs 7 3 double instead of hit
16 vs 9 5 stand instead of hit
13 vs 2 -1 hit instead of stand
12 vs 4 0 stand instead of hit (hmm i thought this one was -1)
12 vs 5 -2 stand instead of hit

12 vs 6 -1 stand instead of hit
13 vs 3 -2 hit instead of stand

Why are the index numbers for 13 vs 2 and 3 negative and saying hit instead of stand? This would mean at a count of 0 you should hit 13 vs 2 or 3 but that is against basic strategy. This is not making sense to me.

Think of a number line. If on the left you hit. So below those numbers you hit otherwise stand

think of it as tc <=-1 for 13v2 to take a hit instead of stand
and tc<=-2 for 13v3 to take a hit instead of stand

it should be like a logical cue for you since you know the correct play for basic strategy then when you know the index number for the deviation you logically know which way on the number line the departure will be on.
example i know normally i stand on 13v2 and for a brand new pack the tc=0 so now if the index number is -1 for 13v3 then logically a departure would be to hit 13v2 when the tc is minus one or less.

My mistake. I misunderstood your wording when you said "hit instead of stand." Problem solved.
