I'm in...

So, I've hit three casinos in the last week to utitlize my counting skills to date. I'm up quite a bit and I'm LOVING it.

My biggest challenge is walking away when the count drops. I don't have the money to be betting on a negative shoe, but I only can pretend my phone is ringing so many times, ya know. Furthermore, the tables are $25 min and I've just been wonging in at a +3 or higher.

I think the ideal situation for someone without a lot of $$$ would be to find another counter who's good and trustworthy and combine bankroll's. One just bets flat...no matter what, and keeps the count. The other just jumps in and bets big when the table's hot. That's easier said than done though. My group of friends thinks it too much effort.

If I keep jumping up every time the table hits -2, I'll be out in no time.

NO. If the partner is both good and trustworthy it is far more profitable for each to play separately at different tables to the combined BR. zg

lol, how the heck much money do you wanna make any how?
aren't there any lower limit tables?
well anyway, if your wonging in and you bet and leave when the count is negative that's good. do you have to be in a real big hurry to get back in on some table? certainly not if you won some money. what's your expectation for an hours worth of hands anyway? think, about that. take a deep breath, stop and smell the roses. :)
if your not a pro depending on this money, you have all the time in the world.

Watch out Wise One - you're getting into deep doo-doo, asking the only question I wanted to know the answer to   :whip:

Now go say a 100 Hail Mary's somewhere before you turn into me lmao.

OMG. Or am I turning into you? Now I gotta go say some Hail Mary's. And I'm not even Catholic

We'll see who awakes from the nightmare first

If there's any more doubt, I'm right-handed, old and have a cat too.

Expectations

My realistic expectation was to do well, but not quite as well as I did. (-: It's been a good week, so I have a little trepidation about going back. It can't always be good, right?

What do you guys feel about tournaments? We have a tournament nearby in a ho-dunk town at a ho-dunk casino. The tables had decent rules, great penetration, etc. It's a $20 buy in with about 50 people.

Be careful, positive variance is all well and good, but makes negative variance seem all the worse when it comes and bites you in the ass. And it will, not trying to be a downer, but you should be prepared if you plan to play with any regularity.

And by the way, tournament blackjack is entirely different from regular BJ, so if you want to play in one of those, I would suggest you do some reading up on it.

This is another indication that you might be undercapitalized. While it's true that you're giving part of your "edge" away by playing any minus counts, you probably need to play some to avoid blowing your cover.
If you insist on teaming up with someone, please remember there are very, very few people that can be trusted that much. Hate to be so cynical but that's the way I see it!

lol, inquiring minds want to know.:)
what sort of numbers are we talking here far as so many hands played and what results for those hands?
