[Short term goal]

Hello everyone! So i'm a new time blackjack player and card counter.( I use the basic HiLo)

I've practiced enough at home to be confident for the casino environment. I constantly count decks during my spare time, and i can get through a deck in a little under 30sec. Complete accuracy! However, when it came to the real blackjack tables i've been losing..

When it comes to the betting in regards to a true count i rarely ever see a TC passed 5. I fnd a lot of the time i'm still losing my hands during TC 3's and 4's even with the best odds, like dealers 6 against you splitting 8's. It's been getting very frustrating.

I'm not the blackjack player looking to make $300 everyday per session.. i know its an unrealistic goal. My goal is really just trying to get $25 per session 2 sessions max perday. Is that still asking to much? I know a card counter can't win everytime....but aren't we suppose to be able to get at least a few chips ahead everytime....1-2 units at least.

The way i see it, 50 per day is an extra 18k per year....thats enough pocket money for me to turn my life around so i dont want to be greedy and go for more....is there any suggestions you guys can give me? Am i looking at this wrong way.

I play $5 minimum blackjack tables 6 decks or 8 decks....sometimes 2 but my bankroll cant handle 25 minimum bets very well for double deck..

Well first of all it is 'past' not 'passed'. Anyway, your goal really shouldn't be to win X amount. Instead you should try to play well and accept that you will have both winning and losing sessions. Variance is not something you can control. The proper attitude is a stoic one. It is reasonable to set a goal of winning on average $25 per day and that is not hard to achieve even with a modest bankroll.

You seem pretty confident in your abilities but unfortunately this might be the kiss of death if in fact your skills are sub-par as is often the case with beginners. I recommend that you record yourself playing a practice session at home (you do have six decks, a shoe and a discard tray, right, so that you can practice extensively before you set foot in a casino?) with a shoe set up with a +10 count at the start so it is guaranteed to be hot and we can assess your skills more accurately. It is imperative that you be able to play through multiple shoes with no betting or playing mistakes before you start going to the casino.

During high true counts you are still more likely to lose the next hand than to win it. Your money is made by the fact that you end up winning more of the uneven payouts (doubles and blackjacks) than the casino. So it sounds like you have a lot of unrealistic expectations regarding the whole card counting experience. Naturally this will lead to frustration and anger, which in turn will lead to tilt.
