How often does a team of counters takes 20ks tho? May be in the film
He's pretty much right,the real AP makes up so small of the populations, casino shoudln't put all their effort in stopping them at the cost of slowing the games down etc.
In one of the casino we play in, we went in to play some punto and a drink, all BJ table were half shoed, not even sat down yet lol.....

So one casino manager has seen the light. There are still hundreds who view any consistant winner (AP's and those grandma's just lucky enough to pull the right handle on the slot machine at the right time) as a threat to their bottom line and therefore their own job.
Unfortunately, the casino business is not like any other business. Where every other business treats a problem as an opportunity (just watch Toyota. Although they mishandled their quality problem in the begining, they will eventualy turn the situation around to an opportunity to show how well built their cars really are. Or will be) the casinos treat their customers as the enemy. They view the winning customers as the ones taking their profit away instead of viewing the customers as the source of their income. Which they are the sole source of their income.
To date, this attitude has not created a problem for the casinos because there has been almost an unending supply of new customers with ready cash to replace the ones they have lost for whatever reason. In this new economy, recession, the casinos are going to have to adapt to the reality that their customer base with excess cash is dwindling and arbitrarily shunning and losing their only source of income is a death nell for any business

even worst, in another town...... got banned in the genting in edXXXXX, so we try one in the town, nope can't let you in. We thought fair enough. Then proceed to the G casino, the guy said, "we have been warned by the local casino to not let you guys in" We busted out laughting and said "didn't think we could beat shuffling machines

Perhaps you should e-mail their respective managements the link to this article? Not that it'll help - I doubt very much whether the honchos running the houses in the UK would have much of an idea what he's talking about.
When you're barred from places that have CSMs on every table, you really are up $#it creek. As I said before, new ID (get some of your friends to apply) and new town . . .

I wonder if he pulled that statistic out of his ass, or if it came as the result of an actual gaming industry-backed study? I have never seen such a specific figure as that cited, so I am curious.
It is also incredibly small - 0.00024% is 24 out of every TEN MILLION people who walk into a casino, or roughly one in 400,000! That seems a bit too small. The most common and generalized statistic that I have read is that 99.9% (sometimes cited as 99.99%) of casino patrons are not playing with an advantage - but this takes it to another level.
Correction: The author does state earlier in the article that this statistic comes from a sample limited to his own casino over a 5 year period, with a sample size of 5 million guests. The qualitative standard given is that for inclusion into the .00024%, the individual must be positively identified as a "true professional caliber card counter".

Correct! At least in my case.... I have heard of some players getting friendly backoffs buy mine was nasty. I was called every four letter name in the book, threatened with arrest, followed off the property, and told my teammate was an A-hole as well.
I tried to bring this up with Bill Zender during the chat here (since they were both going to be speaking at an upcoming game protection seminar) but he didn't seem to bite.
"Card counters are not a security liability and should never be approached by security forces. For the few players actually possessing card count skills of the highest level, a respectful business conversation, an agreement of understanding and a hand shake will most often ward off the potential problem of card counting."
