Interesting way to get a room comp

I was playing with a guy yesterday and he had been drinking for a long awhile and we started talking about comps when I asked the Floor for a comp to the steakhouse.

Anyway, he started telling me about the way he gets rooms if the casino won't comp it for him.

He will ask for a comped room, and if they say he doesn't have enough he will tell them "Well I guess I will need to drive home intoxicated but I have been drinking for several hours straight with alcohol provided by you."

He told me he's done this 3 times at different casinos and has gotten a room each time.

A comped room is cheaper than a potential lawsuit. If I were a casino host and heard that, I'd be scared I'd get fired if the guy gets in an accident and sues. If he does get in an accident I'd feel bad.

It's also an interesting way to get banned from the casino. A smart casino isn't going to let you pull that on them more than once.

A better way to do it is to pretend to be drunk, then innocently ask a security guard to help you find your car. Maybe stumble a few times. They all know the implications of third-party liability; let them be the ones to offer the room rather than be seen as trying to blackmail them.

Well as a matter of fact he knows about taxes on jackpots.

Told me he won $15,000 on a slot jackpot, then the same night lost it all back to the casino, and a while later the IRS came knocking for taxes on that $15,000.

He went back to the casino for a win/loss statement but all they had was a record of him winning the $15,000.

"It's fine though, I'm never going to pay them. Sure it keeps going up with fees but I'm never paying."

IRS wont accept a win loss statement from a casino........Hand written notes everyday...every machine number is best... win loss everyday...just scribble it down on paper somewhere....
