I was playing today and another AP wonged into my game. When he left at the end of the shoe, I saw him at a 3CP table and I was thinking to myself "WTF is he doing there?" Then, I noticed the dealer flashing big-time.
Moral of the story - always be alert for opportunities.

The moral I'm getting from this story is to not talk about flashing in public...

alertness!

I have always been on the alert for ops in the stores. I have had many a missed opportunities for spooking but no one to share the info with. I shake my head sometimes when I think of the money we could've made.

Spooking is cheating, I believe. zg

So far no one has produced a case showing spooking is illegal, but I doubt he meant spooking since it really doesn't exist anymore.

I'd really like to get the time to do a review of published information on this, because I agree, I don't think there's any statute or appellate decision giving a clear answer.

Spooking in the sense that we used to use the word barely exists any more, but other situations come up now and then in blackjack and other games in which a spook not sitting at the table might be able to spot a card.
