Shadroch told the gist of it. I wanted to publish an effective level 1 unbalanced count system that was completely developed with a table of individual index numbers, a positive IRC and include fine-tuning options such as half point counting and true fudging. Bypassing the red deuce instead of the black 7 made KISS its own system, different from the Red 7 Count.
I've run many sims with KISS III and Red 7, both using the exact same IRC and index numbers as each other. They performed extremely close to each other, but for the record, Red 7 seemed to edge KISS III by a few thousandths of one percent in EV over the course of a few billion hands each.
However, some have said that since you must exclude half a rank with these systems, they've found it easier during rapid-fire to single out the 2 rather than the 7.
The real benefit of KISS III is that it is a more fully accessorized system than Red 7. There is nothing preventing you however, from using the Red 7 card tags with the KISS III operating accessories. That should be all good.
