Las Vegas Advisor 2010 Coupon Book - Crap

Here's a funny one - sales of the coupon book must be very much DOWN DOWN DOWN.

Read the February issue of the Las Vegas Advisor newsletter, and buried in the discussion was this gem:

No promises, but this program should also allow us to bring back many of the gambling matchplay offers that were eliminated from this year’s book.

It seems that this jerk Anthony Curtis is reaping what he has sown, insulting his customers who, like me, mainly subscribed to his book for the matchplays. I think I will let him eat his humble pie for a year, and if he truly reverses course and makes matchplays available again in his 2011 book, I might re-subscribe.
 
Beginning last year the LVA offered online printable coupons to its members. These coupons could only be accessed and printed once and expired 30 days after printing.

These coupons were unpopular for 2 reasons: 1) Many people had trouble accessing the coupons from their computer. 2) Because they expired 30 days after printing instead of at the end of the year often people would print one for a trip, never actually get to the casino, and be precluded from using the coupon on a future trip.
 
They expire those coupons in only 10 days after they're printed, which severely cuts down on their usefulness. Plus, if your printer doesn't work, if the connection is broken, you lose. They set up their system in a way that many people get gypped out of the coupon.

But it's a big admission by AC that his policy of dropping matchplays and insulting his customers is coming back to bite him in the ass. As well it should.
