Less scrutiny for small bets means larger spread?

I know casinos take red chip advantage players less seriously, well atleast give them less scrutiny, does that mean i should be able to get away with more than a 5-50 spread on an average 6-decker. maybe 5-75 or more? obviously this depends on the casino but just wondering any experiences or info thanks again!!!

In my experience, it all comes down to how much you bet when you are betting large, i feel the threshold of tollerance is around 150 dollars/hand+/- the parnoia of the casino. If you are playing at a 5 dollar table, and your betting 50-75 dollars, nobody will care unless your really blatantly counting cards by counting aloud, or asking the dealer what the index for your current hand is.

Also, the simple fact that you sometimes bet ten dollars and sometimes bet 150 dollars is the biggest flag of all that you wave saying "i might be a card counter"

I just walk up to tables sit down, not betting at all, then place only bets of one predetermined size for every bet i place, then the only way they could know im counting cards is if they figure out why im not playing every hand. Ivs had far less heat/backoffs playing this way

Are you saying you don't ramp? (flat bets only?)

The best way to hide your bet spread so that you can achieve a wide enough spread to generate good profits is as follows:

Bet a random 2 or 3 units off the top and continue that way as long as the count is between T.C. -1 and T.C. +1. Back down to one unit at T.C. -2. Leave the table at T.C. -3 The rest of the time you'll be able to bet up to 20 units and it will look to the pit that you are ranging from 3 to 20, which, if that were the case, would be an anemic spread of less than 7-1. [Try not to bet oddball amounts like 7 or 11 chips, etc..]

Mostly it depends on the casino and a little on your playing style. I’ve backcounted and spread $10-2x$100 with no heat and I’ve spread $1-$10 with a pit critter breathing down my neck. The casino is the biggest factor followed by the employees followed by your playing style and act. Some casinos won't let you get away with anything no matter what your bet level. Sometimes only certain employees will bust your balls. Sometimes you can avoid them completely if you play in the right spot. Avoiding heat is a whole topic in and of itself that a good AP will need to learn.

You shouldn't be spreading less than 5-75 in a six decker if you're playing every hand. Otherwise your edge is too small.

Yeah, 5-50 is a 10x spread, which will result in an advantage in a 6D game, but probably not a large enough one. Knock it up to 5-75 AND do some wonging, and now you're talking about a good time.

... but I've been backed off betting less.

Interesting Concept

negetive, zero bet ramp, i simply bet, or dont bet, betting spread of infinity:1
It goes without saying that this limits the amount of hands that you play. I think you're also saying you bet the same amount at TC +3 as you do at TC +6.
Not a good approach.

I should have said, not a good approach UNLESS you need to do this to stay under the radar.

No kidding? 40:1! You do this without attracting heat? What percentage are you putting out max bet, approximately?
I've gotten away with 1:3x50 without any trouble. Just find a place that doesn't care how you play on shoe games with red chips.

I usually stay away from shoe games anyway.

The other day I was getting alot of heat from one place playing 4 greens on DD. PB watching my play and on the phone too and dealer calls checks play every time I put out 4 or more units.

I left ahead but reigned in my bets quite a few times. I wondered if some of the 'heat' could be just to make sure they record my play for comp credit. What do you think? That is part of the PB job isn't it?

No, you were right to get out of there. The boss on the phone means they were skill-checking you.

Some of the "heat" was probably records/comp related, but they were sweating you.
