Limited travel time..advice needed

#1
Where I live, and I am limited to short trips, 1 day trips or 1-2 days weekend trips. Longer trips (3-5) are only possible about every 2 month. On the overnight trips, I usually head to Tunica (4 hour one way)) or St. Louis (5 hour one way), can get in up to 8 hours playing. Rooms are free but expenses include gas, and a meal or two (cost $100) as some meals are comped. I play at 2-3 different casinos. Thus, about 8-10 hours drives round trip for 8 hours at the tables. These are mostly DD $25 min. Games

One one day trips, I can hit a casino (Harrah's at Metropolis, IL or Tropicana in Indiana), both about 2.5 hours drive. These, I can only get 1-2 hour sessions (heat and having to return home). Cost is $60. This, driving 5-6 hours to play 2 hours. Mostly $10 min., 6 deck games spreading 1-12.

Do not know if it's worth it. I am slightly ahead but there is also a toll that on me, on the car, etc. it's great on a winning trip but when I break even or lose a little, I feel like it's a waste of time and curse myself for having made the trip if I return having lost several hundred dollars.

I think, to make it profitable, I have to play larger stakes but with a low $32k BR, can't do it. Any advice?

it seems good that you are questioning the worthiness of your exploits. perhaps the answer lay therein. just me maybe, i wouldn't be upping the stakes laid out.

I would make longer trips and skip the short trips. I found I enjoy playing much more the less I do it. It seems like a job otherwise.

I thought you were going to retire and if you did you should have a lot of time.

I am semi-retired. That is, I work from home or anywhere, mostly an hour or two of emails daily and about two internional trips of a month each in each year.

I do have a high schooler in my son and thus, needed, at home. I can take a weekly 1-2 day trip and a 3-4 trip each month, the latter by air. The latter, I have done to Las Vegas and to Biloxi. There is an offer of a RT by air to Philadelphia and I am thinking of trying it. Are there any M Zlife or Ceasers properties in that area?
