What is the best thing to do if you are playing and lose, or thing you lose, count in the middle of the shoe.

do you need to get up and leave right away? or there some damage control you can do?

If you fumble the count, and are not sure if its X or Y, go with the more conservative number. Just move on, all you have done is made the penetration less by one card. If you completely lose the count, you may be able to look at your bet and work out what the count was. If all else fails just leave the table or flat bet until the shuffle.

Agree with jimmybond007. If you lose track of one or two cards, then you're essentially reducing the penetration by that amount. On a 6D shoe, it isn't that big of a deal.

One thing I would do, is when practicing, say in CVBJ, use at most two decks. That way if you do lose the count it won't be long until you start over again. Also, you can go back and re-focus to make sure to re-check the RC.

One other thing is you might, depending on the heat, is stick with DD for a short time.
