I've never made it down all the way to the Belterra, which is between Louisville & Cinci...but may be a tad closer to Louisville. I don't know if anyone around here has info on the conditions there, you may want to check that one out.aslan said:There's riverboat gambling in Louisville, KY. Has anyone played there? I'll be in Louisville for a pool tournament in January and am wondering if it is worth a visit. Any comments would be appreciated.
Let's see, 6 deckers, S17, Das, average penetration if I remember correctly. I don't remember any 2 deck, but if its there, it's probably 10-11, NDAS, $25 min.ChefJJ said:I've never made it down all the way to the Belterra, which is between Louisville & Cinci...but may be a tad closer to Louisville. good luck
Is Caesar's the games you described above?geneticfreak said:That would be Caesar's, across the river. The hotel isn't too bad, but the boat was small inside. The tables were jammed together and looked cheap. I actually drew blood on an exposed bolt on one of the table legs - my first blackjack injury.
Perchance it changes from time to time. On the other hand, no competition, no change.Preston said:The closest to Louisville is Caesar's Indiana and it was one of the crappiest casinos I have ever been to..
and the rules were pathetic.
They have 8 deck shoes, crap pentration H17, standard rules
Tight DD rules including Double 10/11 only, no resplitting of pairs no DAS, no surrender, 30% penetration, dealer hits soft 17
overall the worst casino I have been to this year.
I was offended by how bad the conditions were.
I agree about Argosy generally being the best option for BJ in the metro Cinci area. The 6D game generally seems to come at $10 or $15 minimums too. I've had moderate success with BJ at the Grand Vic in the last few trips, but the last run there was last fall...I do prefer it for craps though because it generally has less people crowding the tables.Knox said:I don't think I will ever go to this place again, Argosy Cinci is a better option. Grand Victoria is also worth considering but it is a small place. I've played there for hours too without a single positive count, are they cheating somehow?
Myself and a few fellow counters have the same suspicion of that place.Knox said:Cestaurant were you can seat yourself at the counter and get quick service.

If the count was always negative, wouldnt that mean that more tens and aces were always coming out? I suppose the only cheating i could see here is the dealers bringing all the big cards to the front of the shoe so counters dont have time to react to positive counts.Preston said:Myself and a few fellow counters have the same suspicion of that place.
Maybe we should file complaint with indiana gaming commision
If the count is always negative, all it tells you is that there are more tens and aces in the remaining decks including those that will not be dealt. It does not mean that there are more tens and aces coming out, because they may be contained in the portion of undealt cards. For this reason, you could never assume that tens and aces are coming out; you should wait until the count is in positive territory because that is where there is a greater likelihood that high cards will be coming out.mjbballar23 said:If the count was always negative, wouldnt that mean that more tens and aces were always coming out? When are they ballparking that being ready?Preston said:I figure GV will sink when Argosy gets their new boat.
Yeah that's exactly the way, if they were cheating, what I thought would be the way they'd do it.Preston said:On more than one occasion I have back counted tables. Counts would raise absurdly high. Enough for me to jump in the action. Despite the high counts, small cards were still coming out and dealers were still drawing out. It seemed like A TC of +8 would act like a TC of -8.
