Here's a sidebet with a house edge comparable to Keno, and they paid quite a sum of money both for the new felts and the license to use this trademarked sidebet, and they don't want people betting more than $5? They should be taking $100 bets on that! Casinos are so stupid, people clamoring to give them money but they won't have any of it, they'll fight those donations off with their dying breath.

And I'm sure there is some manager there with a mustache and a beige suit who made this decision and is now chortling how he outsmarted everyone.

It's small, but they have 3CP and Let It Ride, also Caribbean Stud, all kinds of things where they can and will take a hard hit on a jackpot occasionally. And all with a lower HE than LL.

I think they're just stupid.

Aren't these bonuses paid by the licensing company, not the casino? I seem to recall reading about a guy who hit the RF bonus on Let It Ride and him having to wait on a check from Shufflemaster or something.
I believe the casino pays out the LL bonus themselves.
Perhaps the law in PA only allows an aggragate of $5,000 per hand on BJ?

No I don't believe gaming law allows debts to be paid by anyone but the store who dealt the game. Other PA casinos have the full $25 bet available.

Besides, this place has $25 9/6 JoB, that's going to get banged up for $100K every 30K hands, how can they be afraid of a $25K jackpot with a cycle of around 68K hands and 30 times the house edge?

Right, but I think the casino is ultimately responsible for paying the player, and all the connected stores work off a communal bank. They'd have to state it clearly up front if the player wasn't going to get paid where they are playing. They do that just so little stores can advertise huge jackpots. Easy to do on a slot, but I don't think the sidebet owner would be happy about paying it on a table game where the house has no incentive to protect the game if they aren't going to have to pay it.

One exception might be the Caribbean Stud jackpot which requires that silly dollar in the lighted slot to be activated. That slot could be connected electronically to a communal bank, that can be reset instantly if someone hits it.

They might be required to test all new games and bets with a maximum of $5. When PA first offered table games every bet was $5 during the testing week. And the casinos couldn't keep the money they made during testing.

Pretty much every store in the Seattle area. You can PM me for more info. The norm is usually 20-25k, but I've seen 30K aggregate.
