Really? How about Nevada. That's where it happened to me. Not much I can do about it now, but just wondering for future reference.

Not sure about Nevada; I would guess that Nevada probably doesn't have the legal right to take your money either, but for ME it would have to be a HUGE amount of money for me to not AGREE to give it back. (Assuming that in Nevada a refusal to return an overpayment would almost CERTAINLY result in an 86)

Right, I should have qualified it as depending on jurisdiction. I just remember reading about some players who were overpaid, refusing to pay it back, and were sued for theft. That may not have been in Vegas.

At the very least they'll 86 you for sure if you refuse.

Wow. Everyone has an opinion about this one. ;) Thanks for all the responses. That's what I was looking for. As I mentioned, I didn't plan this one it just kinda happened spur of the moment. I will admit that while I don't feel like it was the best idea I am genuinely shocked at how pissed a few of you were. I guess, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." :grin:

As someone mentioned earlier, if you've ever accepted the incorrect amount of change at a supermarket or collected an incorrect win at the bj tables those are both considered stealing by The Great Spirit. :) It's a fine line. All I did was ask for money and it was given to me. :)

Pete Rose was overpaid at the MGM Sportsbook and was so informed while still inside the casino. he refused to pay it back and as a result, the clerk who paid him, and his supervisor were fired, and Rose was banned. The amount involved was a few thousand dollars. Rose used to make more than that a month from MGM escorting whales arounf town.

Not surprising Pete Rose would pull a stunt like that.
