The MIT Blackjack Team featured in the bestseller Bringing Down the House is hosting a seminar in downtown San Francisco on April 1. If you are interested, please goto our website: www.BlackjackInstitute.com and signup, or send email to "[email protected]" for more information. Please mention that you saw this on Ken's site. We look forward to seeing you there.

Cheers,

If my post is innappropriate, please remove it - I am sorry. I had talked to Ken about seminar referrals a couple of days ago, and I also just sent him a private message about my post. I have been reading this board for well over a year now, and in fact I just re-read the posting rules for the site and thought my post was well within the realm of acceptable. Again, if my post is inappropriate, I am sorry and I will have Ken remove it. Thank you for your understanding.

Is this something new? I'm not aware of any seminar by them.
I like the way it is structured.. Take the seminar and if you make the grade, its free. Don't pass muster and its $700.Too bad its on the wrong coast.

No, not at all... I'm pleasantly surprised that you even replied (after all most spammers don't respond)... I see that NYBear has answered the question - the purpose of the "seminar" is to sell a $700 product? Yes? zg

ZG,

First off, I am not a spammer. I have not posted a similar message on anyone else's message board, and I only posted on Ken's site.

With that said, I noticed that way back on June 14, 2004, you posted a single message on my site: (Dead link: http://forum.blackjackinstitute.com/viewtopic.php?t=6&highlight=) _see it here_. You will notice that you in fact are a spammer and didn't follow up to the responses you recieved. Of course, you are welcome back anytime....we have an open door policy! Seriously, though, you might try to update the link on our site because it is to your old article, I believe, and is dead.

Peace. If you want to know the answers to your original questions, then follow the original link. ;)

NYB,

You are in luck, we will be having an East Coast seminar within the next couple of months. Just putting finishing touches on the planning/logistics. Details to come when available....

Okay, so the MIT site is yours? Well then I surmise that your only purpose for visiting us is to sell the seminar? I too looked and saw that the Mr. J handle's first posts were this thread.

Yes, I posted a single intro message and interview link at MIT nearly two years ago and received little or nothing in the way of meaningful intelligent response, so I wrote that forum off. Its still not a robust forum, presumably because the promoters are on a mission to sell their sizzle.

Why don't you go to Guthy Renker and do an infomercial? I can call Tony Robbins. We could throw in the Brainpower 20-20 pills for the first 100 callers... and for those who lack the necessary BR, Carlton Sheets or Robert Allen can toss in the Instant Cash Flow Power ZERO CREDIT NO MONEY DOWN Instant Wealth Strategy.:joker:

I'm really just kidding, I'm glad you're here and I wouldn't have been so testy had I known who you were - you are a true legend and you've lead the BJ life I have only dreamed of!

In all honesty I would love to attend the seminar myself, but I'll have to wait until it comes to SoCal. WELCOME Mr. J!

While a first post touting a $700 seminar would get most posters banned, these guys are different. They're the real thing, and I'd love to have them as active participants here, including Mr J, MIT Mike, and M Rosa.

Though I know some of the group, I haven't seen their live seminar. I can easily recommend it though, just based on my interactions with them. I'm sure it is an excellent value for the money.

Their DVD course has actually been in stock here at BlackjackInfo for a couple of weeks, and I've been so busy I haven't added it to the store yet. Gotta get that done. Maybe later today.

QFit's CVData and CVCX have been around even longer than that without being listed.

Mr.J I went to the website and there isn't much info on the seminar. Could you please expand on the length of the seminar?
What will be covered in the seminar?
Is this seminar for beginners or experienced counters?
What counting systems will be looked at?
Do you cover the math behind blackjack?
Is this seminar a tryout for a team?
It would be appreciated if you could list the topics of what you will cover.
Thanks

Ken, thanks for the kind words. As far as our seminar, our goal is to teach people how to make blackjack a real profession. We not only provide technical instruction, but just as important, practical advice on how to apply advantage play to real world casino conditions. We teach people how to make the big leap from recreational/semi-pro gambler to a professional who acutally has a real edge over the house and can capitalize on that advantage. The mathematics of advantage play will be covered (from details such as true offset to concepts such as EV/variance). The seminar is 8 hours long and topics include: Expected Value, Count System (focus on the Hi-Lo), Betting Strategy, Training Methods, Money Management, Team Play, Avoiding Heat/Burnout. There will be at least two instructors which provides flexibility in terms of addressing the needs of attendees with different blackjack backgrounds. In my opinion, I think anyone who is not an accomplished advantage player will benefit from the seminar. Having trained many players on the MIT Blackjack Team, I know from experience that the majority of blackjack players overestimate how good they really are. The seminar is not intended to serve as a tryout for the team, but you never know. All attendees will also have the opportunity to pass the MIT Blackjack Team BP checkout and receive the seminar for free.
