mohegan sun notes

So the ac ferret left ac braving 95 into ct to assault mohegan sun. For any other ac players planning on making this trip, dont plan it on a weekend, traffic delays were unbearavle and the ride took 4 hours. I went only to mohegan to cash in on some serious coupons they mailed me for my black chip action last winter. I didnt goto foxwoods, cause i wanted to get to ac on time, which is where i am now posting from my pda. Mohegan was still 6d as i recall from last time, but i didnt recall the 8 deck discard trays, and on the first shoe, i made the rookie mistake of assuming 8 decks in the shoe, since i didnt see them physically insert the shoe after the shuffle. so watch out for that one, god i felt dumb. penetration was substandard, but wongable, which i am used to so it was all good mostly 1.5 or 1.75 decks cup off of 6 i noticed a few h17 tables, they all had red felts, and i didnt see red felts anywhere else, it was only one pit so be sure to stay away from it. i learned that for god knows what reason, you are not allowed to split tens here. I learned that they have a semi manual comping system which could be manipulated to hustle comps if one wanted to. In addition, the processing of table time to the issuance of comp dollars is shorter than that of other venues, and only takes about 30 to 45 mins. Thats what i observed this weekend, now i am playing ac, and i already miss that surrender option

The 8 deck discard trays threw me as well. I still can't figure that one out, because there are no 8 deck blackjack games anywhere in the casino. Maybe the 6 deck trays are more expensive, and the Mohegan execs cheaped out?

The 8 deck trays may not be cheaper in the short run, but in the long run it would allow them to switch from 6 to 8 decks without mounting new discard trays. Plus, there doesn't seem to be much down side to having a larger discard tray than is necessary.

Larger discard trays make deck estimation trickier. I know my favorite place to play has the appropriate size discard trays for each table, and this makes deck estimation a lot easier for me.

Yeah... 4/6 midweek sux. Been over to FW a few times this year for small play. Always seems 6 to 6.5/8. Tuffer to get to +2.

I really haven't seen good ol' 75% at Mister Sunny for at least a year.

As some of you may have recently heard, the revenue warning stumbled in to the State Capitol in Hartford recently. Oops too many Casino's, new ones being planned in MA and NY, and the stupid economy smartened up... fewer $$$ there ehh?
