More than this

To me at over 50 working w/ a side line business but mainly as a grocery checker I find almost more joy from the pride of being able to do something not a whole lot of people can do in playing as an AP. I am sure more people could do excel at this sport if they had the time and tenacity it takes to post long term gains.

Working retail I have a fair amount of people looking down their noses at the lowly cashier but when the going get good I just chuckle inside.

Forgive my poetic liberties, I enjoy internet networking. I have poured my heart into my window cleaning group here on the internet, winning a window cleaner of the year award in 2007 and now once again getting entrenched in this mystical game I just want to share my joy with my brothers in arms.

I got my college degree this semester and have yet to be enthralled at finding a job or doing anything other than my part time job. Gives me more time to read and feel like I don't have to squeeze in a hundred things. People think of me as a slacker, that I just sit around and pud around, the best part is I laugh inside too. They have no idea. Although the worst part is my family and boyfriend all think that I am wasting my time with this too. That part sucks. Other than that, it's glorious!

So many people think that no one can win so I just stop trying to explain, I just hate it when they think you are just another loser.

I tell my wife that if I am making money and having a little fun at the same time I am not hurting a darn thing.

My two cents worth.

Dopple,

You said "I tell my wife that if I am making money and having a little fun at the same time I am not hurting a darn thing."

I will go out on a limb here and suggest that "not hurting" may be not accurate.

It may be "hurting" your wife.
It may be "hurting" your marriage.
She may feel that that "darn thing" is her and/or her marriage.

I am sure that you have been married for a long long time
and your bond has survived worse then this and will endure.

I sincerely hope that there is no problem for you and your better half,
and it is just my chemically scrambled brain producing this post.
If so, I apologize in advance.

I hear you there! I too have a college degree but I have been layed off since Spring so I have plenty of time to study and practice BJ and even playing here and there to build a bankroll. It's senseless to get a minimum paying job because unemployment pays better. I am currently practicing for a two man team with me as the spotter. I will get all expenses paid to Vegas plus an hourly wage. I believe we plan on maybe 3 days a month in NV for starters. I am over 45 yrs old so why go back to college...that wouldn't help me one bit. My husband is an engineer and makes good money, I get to hang out with my 3 children and both grandkids, read and surf the internet and no daily job bs to deal with. I get to do whatever the heck I want to do and when I want to do it; well for the most part!! Take care and good luck

I am betting that math courses were conspicuous by their absence.

Perhaps he majored in syntax and minored in grammar.

I am also over 50, I run a company with a high stress factor, very high, and BJ is my escape, and my wifes too, as she is a Math Proff with great stress.

BJ and motorcycling keeps me sane, or I may do something very bad.

I take it your degree isn't in spelling. ;)
Oh crap, my bad! I was laid off in March and probably haven't been layed since then either

"She" has a degree in electronics with a minor in math. :eek:I say "she" because I did state that my husband was an engineer.

Hey, that was a good slam and yes I may not be the most proficient at spelling and forget to use spell checker sometimes but who cares? I won't let you guys intimidate or scare me off. I can take it but for sure I can also dish it out too! :whip:

Just to help you out here are a few synonyms for "SHE"... Miss/Mrs./Ms., daughter, femme, gal, gentlewoman, girl, grandmother, lady, madam, matron, mother, she, sister, woman, babe, bimbo, chick, dame, dish, doll, doxy, female, floozy, gal, girl, honey, lady, lassie, miss, moll, skirt, sweet thing, tootsie, babe, baroness, bitch, broad, butterfly, contessa, countess, dame, doll, duchess, empress, female, gal, gentlewoman, girl, little woman, mama, mare, matron, missus, mistress, noblewoman, old lady, old woman, petticoat, princess, queen, queen bee, rib, squaw, sultana.

I don't care which one of the above you choose to call me but here's something to think about...remember that the next time you see a smokin' hot :flame:"she" sitting next to you at the BJ table raking in all the money, well, it just might be me your eyeballing and flirting with!

See guys, I do have a sense of humor!

GOOD DAY TO YOU ALL

"I don't care which one you choose to call me"

I prefer "Quim" - but only because i can say it in any company and it is
unlikely that anyone knows what it means. See ? I too have a sense of humor.
In fact my being a clown and a jokester serves me well as camouflage, as
I often get myself highly "caffeinated" and become quite the animated "cut-up" at the table,
and most floor_persons don't easily imagine my using a complex count while I am "running my mouth".

 OMG, I had to look that one up...that is a good one. OK, now I am motivated to find a exotic word of my own to use that is similar for the male counterpart.

CHEERS and have a great day

Red,

I want to apologize for Flash, he is normally a gentleman, but I consider that term disrespectful and out of line. This comes from a Father of two girls.
