Greetings fellow card counters! I have been studying, practicing, and playing Blackjack seriously for about two years. Up until now I have been going about it entirely solo. Although I have read countless forums, and listened to several podcasts. I'm wondering if any of you brilliant minds are active players in the Midwest willing to share information about stores, and just network in general (privately of course). I have been to quite a few stores and have a fair amount of experience that I'm willing to share with anybody interested. Feel free to comment or PM me. Excited to be part of the community!

welcome to the community its ashame you are 15 years too late, this site was vibrant of people telling their stories of the blackjack tables, some even told stories for 2 years + and couldnt beat this game the casinos are ever so happy to offer to the public, with that said you can still find stories from 2005 to today most stories dont have a happy ending everyone on the internet seems to be that guy just needs 100$ bankroll and never look back

Thanks for the reply Steve! Unfortunately I would have been too young to gamble 15 years ago! I'll humor you with a story though. Not too long ago I was playing a game heads up with a slightly positive count situation. Another player asks if they'd like me to wait for the end of the shoe before they join in- obviously I prefer them to wait and they do. A few shoes later, I Wong out of a negative count. I come back to the same table about an hour later. This player is still there, and I take my seat. Player turns to me and whispers something along the lines of "good that you got out of that shoe, the count was terrible." This caught me by surprise- player was just a basic strategy flat bettor. I have seen quite a bit in my blackjack career but this was the first time a player caught on. I proceeded to act confused like I didn't understand. Pretty sure they also became confused themselves when I Hit 12 vs. 4 then later on in the shoe stood on 12 vs. 2. Wondering if any of you other AP's have had similar experiences and how would you handle them?

I simply ignore others most of the time; just don't say anything. They'll usually get the idea that you want to be left alone and will stop bothering you. Don't be unnecessarily rude, but you have no obligation to engage others in unwanted conversations they attempt to start.Tuck said:

Ignoring a reprobate doesn't always work out. I had one at my table threatening me because I refused to respond to his banter. I discovered months later he had a run in with another player and shot him to death in the parking lot-ambush style.LV Bear said:
Thanks LVB! I've found that is the best approach to those situations. Sometimes the annoyance of ploppies gets to me and I'll have a lot of fun screwing with them. As an example: say I stand on 16 vs. 10. And "mess up the table" if ploppy says "c'mon you gotta take your hits" I might say "no thanks, I don't like drugs." Might get a laugh from the dealer, and I will certainly laugh about it later. However, the fun way is usually not the optimal way. Also would increase the chance of further confrontation and attention, that I would obviously not want. Love your site too BTW!LV Bear said:
