Couponomy, and componomy are the things you want to learn first on a short bankroll. They'll help your bottom line more than anything else starting out.
I would have to strongly disagree man, avoid getting rated at all costs, it got me banned from my favorite and only local casino I used to go to.

When you get rated, their software detects patterns, and if you keep leaving with wins, it'll also flag your account.

For example, my last day (this past thursday) in vegas, I made $3000 in one shoe, and the pit boss was running around looking for my info and trying to write down my physical description.... but I left before he could do anything... However if you get rated, and you walk away they still have all your info, including but not limited to notes of previous pit bosses who were suspicious of you.

Good luck man, I will be compiling a list of tips from personal experiences, which I hope gets stickied, I am very passionate about taking on casinos... I just don't like the arrogance they portray, especially from the pit critters.

Cheers

I've heard of a few superior games in that area, though I've never been there. What are the table limits there (in pounds)? If you have 500 pounds, that would be the equivalent of about $750 US, correct? Your RoR is going to be huge, but if your bank is replenishable and losing the money won't change your current quality of life, then there really isn't much reason not to play, so long as you're willing to accept the RoR for what it is worth. And you know hey, if you lose some of it, you could just cut down your playtime until your dayjob, brings your bank back up to par.

The lowest table limit i have found so far is £5 min and £200 max. the thing is i have just moved here for uni so i am living alone. That £500 bankroll is maoney that i can stand to lose if all goes wrong :/ and at my current job i am making about £100 a week so if i do have any big losses i could always take a brake and build up my bankroll again. But the reason i started learning card counting was so i dont have to work lol. i would be happy if i could make around the same amount of money (£100 per week) card counting so that i could leave my job as i have no freedom. i cant go home on weekends and cant travel with my friends. its really annoying. i'll give it ago with my £500 and let you guys know how it goes. Thanks again for all the advice guys

Don't know what games you people are playing that have 20% ROR betting $5-$60 with a $6000 bankroll. I am betting $10-$100 with a similar BR (actually a little smaller) and I am under Kelly.
