novice - help?

I've got basic strategy.(B/S)
I can't count cards - is it really possible?
I can sit a a table and over 1-3 hours (less, that's a conservative estimate) break even always.
But I don't make money? Can I? Or do I need a bigger bankroll? I sit on about £200 - and bet about £10.

1 more Q (sorry) - 16 is the worst number, I hit according to B/S, but hmmm? is that really the best option - I often loose......?

Advice really appreciated. Thanks, James

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RIGHT BS FOR THE PARTICULAR GAME YOU USE

YES, UNDER MOST CONDITIONS
I can sit a a table and over 1-3 hours (less, that's a conservative estimate) break even always.
BS WILL HELP YOU LOSE SLOWER BUT IT'S NOT A WINNING SYSTEM

PROPER CC REQUIRES MUCH MORE MONEY. ADD AT LEAST ONE ZERO TO YOUR BR

SIXTEEN IS A LOSING HAND. YOU"LL LOSE LESS WITH BS THAN OTHER METHODS BUT YOU"LL STILL LOSE.

If you're not counting cards it really doesn't matter if you hit or stand on 16. It's almost exactly 50/50. And it sucks either way because you're going to lose many more hands than you win no matter which path you decide to take. If surrender is available it's an excellent option for 16.

If you learn to count, always standing on 16 is a good cover move. As others have said, it's 50/50 most of the time. With any plus count standing is the correct play.

On the topic of the bankroll, it really depends how you spread the bets. If you aren't counting at all, the spread can not be effectively used and therefore you will end up losing to the house in the long run.

If you want to have a chance, I'd say learn a simple count just so you have an idea what you're doing against the dealer. And in those situations with the 16, you'll at least have a basis to hit or stand rather than just winging it at 50/50 odds.

Always...Yeah, right.

The other day I put a black chip on black at the roulette table and doubled my money in one spin. That always happens...except when it doesn't.

You can count cards, if you put in the time to practice. It's about as hard as walking. Most people can't do that when they're born, but they practice daily and viola...

Learn to count. Understand probability. Start with a proper bankroll. Have patience. Results will follow...

Yes. I learned the high/low system in about a month. It took my about 2 months to count and play with correct basic strategy and about a week for the correct deviations. My advice would be to forget about playing for a while and focus more on training yourself to learn how to count cards. Just start small counting down a deck of cards. When you get fast at that, try dealing them out like a dealer would and counting them (make sure you have some type of noise in the background, anything that can distract you). Buy black jack books and read up on it (Make sure the books are for the counting system that you want). One book that I recommend is "Black jack blue print". While you are learning how to beat the game, utilize this time to save up your bankroll so that you will not be overbetting your bank roll. After this you should be ready for casino play. Counting looks impossible until you start doing it. Trust me you are capable, it just takes practice. Good luck, (luck really has nothing to do with it.....)
