Number of Decks in Play, BS, and Counting

#1
Hey there, new to the forums, but I've read a few threads here and there.

I was wondering, what game would be the best to play in? With one, two, or 4+ decks? I've been playing for hours in the BS Engine on the site and I've been winning consistently in the one-deck games, and been doing badly in the 4 or more deck-games. Why? I don't think it's because of the true count, I don't have trouble with figuring it out. Although it's a bit frustrating that you need a lot of small cards to get a +2 on your multiple deck games. Also, BS is the same, so that's not probably it. So...I'm confused?

Also, on another note, I think I read somewhere that more decks means more edge in favor of the house (Why?), and so, are the one-deck games more heavily guarded in casinos? (Not at low-limit, of course)

Thanks for any replies.

Yes

I believe you answered yourself Orestto. All other things being equal (same rules) then the fewer the deck, the better the game for the player.

Single deck BJ that pays 3:2 is just about extinct in most places.I'm not sure there are any good games left in Vegas.Double Deck is about as good as it gets, these days.

I don't know about the Strip but downtown, there are several 3:2 Single Deck games unless they've gone by the wayside since Labor Day. I recall seeing them at El Cortez, 4-Queens and Binions. They may not have the "best" rules and pen might not be that great, but they are 3:2.
