About 10 days ago, this occurred:

$6 table.
$30 bet.
Dealt 8,8 against dealer 5. Split.
Hit 3 for 11, double, hit 10 for 21.
Hit another 8. Split.
Hit 2 for 10, double, hit 10 for 20.
Hit another 8. Split.
Hit 2 for 10, double, hit 9 for 19.
Last hand, hit A for 19.
Dealer turned up 9, hit 8 to bust on 22.
$210.

Never before have I had a hand that I had to split 4 ways, double 3 of the 4, and won them all. Very pretty.

Cruise ship. We were on vacation, at that time sailing north back toward Tampa. We've found cruising to be a lovely way to detach from the world for a week. We've already signed up to do another one in 2 years.

The table's peculiar minimum is because they actually want players to play $5min + $1 on the side bet...details of which I already cannot remember, I never play side bets. Or you can just play $6 min, just so long as you put at least $6 on the table. Table limits are generally quite low ($6-$200 and so forth), so I was mostly betting a $10 unit anyway. Cruise ship casinos are not a place for major action.

I thought cruise ship playing conditions are pretty bad? they don't have to offer a good game because there is no competition. with that being said, do you remember the rules or pen?

Some cruise lines offer decent games. NCL offers a decent game and will comp $25 players towards future cruises. Costa and Crystal lines both have pretty good games but not the comps.

Talking about Comps on cruise ship I think I should add my 2 cents here.

Out here on Star Cruises ship Virgo the casino offers 2 points for every 1 hour of play at the $10 table. To me playing BS and flat betting that works out to be $4 per hour. So with 7 1/2 hours of play you get 15 points for a total cost of $60. For the $25 table you would get 5 point for 1 hour of play. 15 points entitle you to book a cabin for 3 pax on a 3D/2N cruise.

The published rate for this cruise for 3 pax is $1200 but it is not uncommon to see 50% dicount advertised. Still it works out to be $600. Now you can see why I am on the ship every alternate week. Haven't paid cash for the cruise in the last few years.

Like all things, it depends. Often times, they're clueless, which is a plus.
