I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this question has been asked a thousand times. Is it possible to make money playing blackjack online (without card counting)? I play with william hill (pretty standard rules (blackjack pays 3-2, resplits, split aces, double on any cards etc). I've been playing a long while now, and seem to be doing nothing but breaking even, and am doubting if making money in the long run is possible, as you are playing a game where the odds are against you. I always (and still do) believed that good money management can overcome the house's advantage, but so far this isn't proving to be true.

Shall I just give up, or can people out there convince me it is possible?

There is no money management that can overcome the house edge, for the most part the only way to make money gambling online is from the bonuses!

so the bottom line is there are no online professional blackjack players? and the only way to make money is to go to the casino and count cards?

There is no way to create an edge over online casinos with properly functioning games. You may find an online casino that is offering a game that is in your favor, this has happened in the past but it is is rare. This has never happened (as far as I know) with online blackjack.

There is no money management scheme that alters the house edge. One of the most common errors many players make is to mistake variance for advantage. It is remarkable how long you can ride the right side of the curve while not having a real edge. But, play long enough, you'll get your share of the other side.
