So say a guy and his gal have decided to take a month off together and want to take a vacation outside of the USA.
We would like it to be a semi working type of vacation. I dont want to kill games, just make enough to pay for the finest dining, rooms, spas, etc......
Games of choice include BJ....but both guy and gal are well versed in other games, and advanced practices.....
PM's are best if the info is any way sensitive !!!!!
Dont really want to do a ship cruise.......Would rather fly to and visit a couple of different places....
Warm weather..... cold weather.....doesnt matter...........just want to see some different parts of this world.....We aint getting any younger...:)
Any info, or suggestions would be much appreciated.....

Thanks all

Better get your passport ASAP. If the government has a partial shutdown due to inability to raise the debt ceiling sufficiently, you may not be able to get one. Not probable, but a definite possibility.

Machinist, have you considered France as a destination for blackjack and sightseeing? France has some of the finest wine and dining in the world, beautiful beaches, and interesting history.

Trip to Poland

Machinist,

Why not consider a trip to Poland? Search posts on this site on PL. I'll be there in September.

ps. Have you seen the movie, "The Machinist?"

Beautiful women. too. And Sage can join him for a super vacation in the land of the frogs! And the wine really is fine. I have finally gotten my wife to appreciate something other than Manischewitz or Sangria. So who's looking at the beaches!!?

Sounds good to me! Hit Monte Carlo while you're there! You could use an unlimited Martingale because they have no table maxes!

Problem with France is there are French people there :)

If you like Paris, see the recent Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris. It's a good movie with Woody Allen NOT starring in it, and the first movie I've seen Owen Wilson not play a doofus.

Alright, I think it's time I chime in since I've been in Paris for the past few months.

The Good:

Most definitely one of the most beautiful and intriguing cities in the world. Just walking around the city will dazzle you. Plenty to see and do, and unlike vegas, most of it is free or reasonably priced.

The wine is incredible. even 1eu whino wine is of higher quality than most US wines. There are many varietals that I've only read about and are only available here. Gamay and st. emillion come to mind. it will be sad when I go back to the states and will have to pay $100 for a decent wine that goes for about $7 in france.

The women are unique. I was imagining french women to be out of control gorgeous, but alas, they are ok and cute. much better looking than german women though:laugh: However, france is much like the US in that many cultures have made a life here, making for a wonderful melting pot of diversity. and so, Arabic french and african french women here are so beautiful. Tons of beautiful half arabic/half french and other cross breeds as well. it's not even that beauty is regarded highly here, it's that everyone is fit from always walking around the city and eating high quality, unprocessed foods.

The Bad:
everything is ****ing expensive. Which can also be a good thing. being environmental is a govt or at least a financial requirement. water bills are really high, so low flow toilettes and shower heads is all they sell in hardware stores. grocery stores charge you if you need shopping bags, so you need your own reusable one. gas is about $9/gal here, so let's not make anymore complaints about gas prices in the US, ok? restaurants and food is pretty pricey, which is probably also another reason why french women(and men) are so slim and sexy!!

I don't know what people are talking about when they say french cuisine is so highly regarded. Escargot, frog legs, and foie gras, need I say more? it's a meat and cheese based diet. Hey, I love cheese but DAMN! no american can handle real french bleu cheese, unless you love eating a block of mold daily. and Goat cheese?!?! if you enjoy the taste of goat hair with your cheese then it's great. they give a lot of weird asian foods a run for their money.:laugh: Now onto pate, terrine, cepe, headcheese or what I call "fancy french SPAM." steaks here suck too. I don't care what any frenchman says, it just sucks. it costs 4x as much and not even half as good as say a Texas roadhouse chain steakhouse. what's funny is that the french are snooty about wine but if you refuse to eat the tough muscle lining and sinew that comes on your steak, you're considered snooty. and why the hell is there sinew on my steak to begin with? I will say that the lighter cheeses like camenbert, st albray, and brie are great though. and there are plenty of bakeries selling fresh bread that comes out of the oven 4x a day.

The gambling is ok. But I'm not here on a gambling vacation. There are 2 casino companies for all of france and that's it. Can you imagine having your choice just limited to MGM or HET props? some places have shoe games but with shitty to decent pen. but there is usually just one casino per town or at least 2 hour's drive from each other. I've gone to two and that's enough. Some places make you pay a ****ing door charge just to enter the ****ing store! 20eu just to see a game not worth playing. don't forget to pay for parking! It's required you get dressed to nines also, with coat and tie. the only thing really going for france for gambling is the poker. they have lots of card rooms and this is a major stop for EPT. also, there's internet poker!! but with a higher than normal rake.:flame:

that's it for now. au revoir.

Reminds me of a funny story...
I have some relatives who are from France. When I was a young teenager, my parents told me they were coming to visit, including a 20ish year old female cousin. I was conjuring up images in my mind and was sorely disappointed upon meeting her.
