Perfect Blackjack play

Hi, i wanted to know..

What if you could play perfect blackjack. So what I mean is, what if you could remember every card that has been played. What could you calculate then to take your decisions, to make your advantage higher. The only thing i know is that BS could be adjusted during the play, i also found this (Dead link: http://www.blackjacktactics.com/blackjack/odds/) _at the bottom of the page_ where they tell you the "perfect counting system" , don't know if this is accurate. Anybody with other resource's?

Then you could create an 12-dimensional chart, covering all 3,000,000,000,000 possibilities of combinations of counts -10 to +10, memorize it all, whoop the casinos, and then retire in style. The big advantage is that nobody could figure out what system you were using - who else would know that when the TC2 is +1 and TC3 is +3 and TC4 is -1 and TC5 is -2 and TC6 is -3 and TC7 is +2 and TC8 is -1 and TC9 is 0 and TC10 is -1 and TCA is -1 that you should hit on hard 17 vs. dealer 8? You'd kick some serious ass.

For those of us who can't do that, there's a very basic approximation: treat 2-6 the same, and treat 10's and aces the same. It reduces counting each card individually to counting high vs. low card (one dimension) and reduces basic strategy to just 3 dimensions (dealer card, player hand, high/low count) and about 5,000 entries. Given that many entries are duplicate, you can actually just memorize basic strategy (~200 entries) and 18 of the most valuable deviations from basic strategy.

That is simply known as basic strategy with the Hi-Lo Count and Illustrious 18 indices. It's not perfect, but it's the simplest way to achieve a similar effect.

And in case anyone is interested what basic strategy for TC2 is +1 and TC3 is +3 and TC4 is -1 and TC5 is -2 and TC6 is -3 and TC7 is +2 and TC8 is -1 and TC9 is 0 and TC10 is -1 and TCA is -1 would look like, here you go:

Some software/websites can give you prefect strategy, by inputting every card you seen...better play against a video machine and check the law in your place before you do it.

The plain and simple fact is, no. The Dealer will eventually get a long string of hands in which, whatever you do, you lose. And you can tell by looking at the next card. Much like all of the different physical forces in the Universe, the weakest one has the greatest reach, and grows strong enough to crush a star.:whip:
 
Computers (and "devices") are 100% illegal in Nevada and AC, and basically everywhere else.

There's two different levels perfection. there would be a traditional count which tracked every card seperately, and weighted it according to its precise effect of removal. I believe Thorp's Beat the Dealer outlined something like this... and it was truly ridiculous. But it would give you basically perfect betting information.

And then there's true computer-perfect play, where not only is every card tracked exactly. And not only that, the computer is fast enough to evaluate all the remaining cards in the deck to determine the correct play decision. Very strange play decisions can result, but the edge is enormous (10%?) There's a discussion in it in Ken Uston's last book (On Blackjack) from the 80's right before it was illegal.

There is no edge for the player under current rules using this methodology with flat-betting. The huge edge came from playing near the very end of the deck, where no one gets to play anymore.
