Oh yes, the old Times Square wallet-jerk. A guy can have some fun with this! I'll just pin an old wallet into a pocket and walk around looking like the kind of guy that would go for this.

In the wallet will be some old player's cards and a note: "Congratulations! You've just been groped by a monkey. But I'm willing to pay $100 for the photos. Please e-mail them to <Nigerian spammer's e-mail> along with your bank name and account number and I'll get the transfer started."

Want to have some real fun with them?

Go put a bunch of money in a slot machine, then cash out right away. Take the payment ticket and make a photocopy of it, cut it out to size, put the copy in your wallet and cash in the original ticket.

When she takes the wallet, what do you think the chances are of her not going into the casino and trying to cash this copy of a $1500-$2000 slot voucher? What do you think the chances of her not leaving the casino in handcuffs are?

Come to think of it, that would be a nasty trick to play on any criminal in a casino venue. Get robbed or pickpocketed, just read the police blotter to see who got arrested at that casino that night for passing forged paper, and you can get him another charge on top of it.

That would be really dumb of the criminal to do. For starters I would think that they'd be able to tell the difference in the paper that they used to make a copy vs. the casino's paper. (Unless you're a forgery wizard, you're not going to be able to make a great copy). Secondly, they would likely know that the casinos check ID when you try to cash it in and scan the barcodes to make sure it's real.

Don't forget that these people are all drug dependent, and yes, they are that dumb. A roll of cash register paper is available at Staples. Casinos don't check ID for relatively small slot vouchers, never been asked for ID before.

And if you think that trick is mean, guess what she's going to have to do for me to show up at court and say I keep a copy of an old winning voucher in my wallet as a good luck charm, and I must have dropped it on the Boardwalk that night and she couldn't have possibly known it wasn't real. :cool2:

In AC, if the ticket is for less than $1000 then it can be cashed at one of the self-service kiosks in the casino. No ID required. Very handy sometimes.

That's true for most medium/large Casinos.. I wondered when somebody was going to say that. :)
