Ploppy determination

I would think that the best APs have the best camo and the best act - down cold.

Sometimes I think people are too quick to respond with judgements -

Regarding the saying "You took the dealer's bust card!" Instead of automatically dismissing that as voodoo - if someone actually knew the deck composition by shuffle tracking or sequencing, how would not taking the dealer bust card be differentiated from "card steering" to cause the dealer to bust?

Course, if we assume that if card steering is harder than card counting, then we can assume that fewer people are steering than are counting cards.

Count up the number of card counters you've randomly encountered at the table. The number of steerers would presumably be smaller than that.

Now compare that number to the number of ploppies who are complaining about taking the bust card, which is relatively HUGE.

Plus, if someone WAS able to steer cards to the dealer, they probably wouldn't want to even mention "taking the bust card".

I guess my point is that the best APs are the hardest to detect... they blend in, they appear to be ploppies, you have no idea they are counting, they appear to be losing or just lucky, and yet they prosper...

counting is the easy part once you reach a certain bet level

We all know that it does not take great intelect to count cards, just the determination to learn and practice. The best, the guys who are lifetime winners, are capable of looking like losers while winning for extended periods of time. This is part of the hard part and I think is different for everyone in some ways, based on their personality.
