for my own part, it's hard to explain but at times when i'm playing i experience what are like extremely obtuse and extremely fast paced but recognizable logical based thoughts that are tied to what i've studied about advantage play blackjack or tied to my past experience while playing advantage play blackjack that work to influence my play decisions beyond what an orthodox counters game plan would call for.

I like to chant the 'Daimoku' - NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO - at the table! I think it works, but I cannot prove it.

Broken down, Myōhō Renge Kyō consists of Myōhō (妙法), "Sublime" or "Mystic" Law, the Dharma underlying all phenomena; Renge (蓮華), the Lotus Flower, which blooms and bears seeds at the same time and therefore signifies the simultaneity of cause and effect, the "natural" law that governs karma; and Kyō (經, "thread passing all the way through a bolt of cloth", but also "scripture"), meaning a teaching of the Buddha. Kyō also connotes sound, such as that of voices, and some Nichiren Buddhists cite this as the reason that they pray using Nam(u)-Myōhō-Renge-Kyō as an invocation.
Back in ancient times, when I was practicing karate, we used kyo to refer to the condition of being physically or mentally unable to defend yourself, due to being off-balance or distracted, for example. Putting your opponent in kyo was a good thing, being in kyo yourself was not. Putting a casino in kyo would be good!

I have personally witnessed this behavior. Occasionally he'll segue into a rendition of "Fours..Fours...I want some Fours" while meticulously stacking his chips in fours and arranging them in some set pattern in an attempt to dislodge the Asian Ploppies. That is, after he's done using them to eat cards and their now just a pain in the ass.zengrifter said:

Actually, I believe that God who has infinite time for each of our large and small problems. He permeates every detail of our lives, so I don't think you would be wasting His time by calling on Him with trivial (in the grand scheme of things) requests. Don't be surprised if you lose, however. lol He may be trying to redirect your attention.
Attitude is a kind of prayer. Humility. Detachment. Faith. Etc. It isn't a bad idea to put yourself into a winning attitude or frame of mind. Chanting might achieve this.
