Do you know anything about rules, the comp system, and was it sweaty?mikeyd said:I was in San Juan recently.
Marriot had excellent pen, 5.5/6.
u mean $150 only 1 box? spread fr $10--150?martingale said:Anything specific you want to know? I live here and can tell you that most of the casinos on the island are in the san juan area. All blackjack games use six decks, dealer always stands on soft 17, doubling down after splits and re-splits are allowed (except aces), and most casinos allow you to double down on anything. Several casinos started to offer surrender a few years ago but I'm not aware of any which currently have it.
Penetration in general is pretty bad (I would say 4 out of 6 decks on average), but move around and with some luck you can find 5 out of 6 penetration every now and then. No heat, very easy to do bet variation up to $100-$150 (my opinion).
Yes, one box (that's what I do). Doing the same spread x 2 boxes in my opinion would be a red flag here.jnrwilliam said:u mean $150 only 1 box? spread fr $10--150?
how about spread $10-150 x 2 boxes?
It's all shoe games. Several places have good pen. When I was there, several casinos were completely dead on day shift.Lefty said:I'm heading to Puerto Rico in about 6 weeks. Will be staying in the San Juan area. Any new updates or recommendations?

Thanks Flash.FLASH1296 said:mikeyd . . . You said …
"The tables had signs saying something like Double only on 11 or less,
but they allowed me to double on soft hands"
What that actually means (in practice) is that you can double on any 2 cards;
however, IF you double a soft hand you may be in for a rude surprise.
When, e.g., your Ace-4 receives a 5 you will have a total of 10, not 20.
They said that you can "only double on 11 or less"; therefore you had
doubled with a total of 5, not 15. You cannot have a total of 20 because
WHEN you doubled you had, (in effect), unwittingly declared your hand
to be eligible for a double, by virtue of its being "less than 11". The Ace
does NOT get upgraded. If that were permissible, then there would be
NO purpose in having the restriction posted. This is absolutely NOT facetious.
