Huh man!

Note:I am card counter and I would never use betting systems in land based casinos, but since I was board, and not having easy access to land based casinos I decided to have some fun online

Flat betting is extremely boring so I decided to have some fun with "OSCAR" the GREAT!

I can say that I changed my philosophy about blackjack after using "OSCAR", and I have a news for you guys.... I swear that I will never use any kind of betting strategy again.

This is why:

my bankroll - $1000

overall profit - $18
lowest bankroll point - $350
strings played - 18

MAAAAAN ROLLER COASTER!!!!!! Going down $650 just to win $18..... I can just tell you that I am very glad that I didn't lose all of my money.

From now on I'll stick with flat betting in online casinos.

But thats the greatest part of Oscar.
Its like being on the roller coaster at NY,NY.
It gives an absolute rush,but you know its going to come to a safe and happy landing.
Although I must say that I've never been down $650 on a $1 starting bet.That must have been some rush as you made your comeback.
Its not for the faint of heart,or the underfunded.
Ever been so thrilled to win a dollar,as you were that one sequence?

I Would win far more if I was using martingale, but that's not the point.

The point is that my bankroll dropped down $650.

I am just saying what happened.

I was perfectly executing OSCAR "strategy".

The only reason why I climbed back up were 4 Blackjacks, that I was luck to get when my bankroll dropped down to $350 (I forgot to say this in my thread).

That simpy can't be true.
Any martingale progression that had you down $650 from a starting point of $1 would have wiped you out of $1000 bankroll,unless you can explain how you got $650 down using a system that you flat-bet your losses.
11 losses from the start in OSCAR=-11 units.
11 losses from the start using martingale= loss of almost double your starting bankroll.

So how would you have made out flatbetting in a run that must have been disaterous?
The whole point of OSCAR would be that not only did you survive it,you defeated that horrendous run and turned it into a victory.

I couldn't agree more.But it does get a bet boring winning in small increments. I really think thats why so few people successfully can use this system,esp in BJ.
It goes against almost everything they have learned and studied. You want to raise into a positive count and duck negative counts,but OSCAR says forget all that,just trudge along and I will reward you.

Actually Chasekwe, that's nothing at all like Oscar. As a matter of fact, with Oscar, you never raise your bet after a loss. And as for 9 hand losing streaks, I've had many. I recently went 18 hands straight (on-line) without a win: 4 pushes, the rest losses including splits and DDs.

Only you know how confused you are or are not,but you are mistaken in terms of Oscar.

Oscar;
a system where you break your game into small sessions,the object being to win 1 bet in each segment.
In Oscar,you raise you bet after a win,not a loss. And by one unit each win,unless that unit would put you too over the top. IE- You are down 10,betting 6. When you win,you are down 4. Instead of raising your bet to 7,as you normaly would do after a win,you drop your bet to 5 because the idea was to win 1 unit for the sequence. Additionally,if you lose,you will have reduced the total amount of chips lost,making it easier to catch up.
