Well friends, what a messed up 4 days it's been for me on this site which I have come to like so much. After a rather unusual backoff last week, which left me quite uncomfortable, I decided to take a short break while I re-evaluated things. When you play as much as I do, these breaks are sometimes necessary, just not usually for this reason. So in the course of this re-evaluation of things. mainly my procedures, I posted about the situation, hoping to gain some perspective from other players who may have encountered unusual events like this. And I did get some useful input, although not a whole lot. Instead, I mostly found myself defending and explaining my past procedures, which is ok, led to a some good discussions.

During the course of this weekend, while spending so much time online, I discovered, what I am sure many of you also did or at least now realize, the huge influx of new posters, with similar names and posting styles. The only reason I brought this to the attention of both management and other members is because of the slim possibility that rather than a troll or person with no life, this could possibly, (remote, but possible) be a fishing expedition. So I got caught up in that possible conspiracy theory. My apologizes to any of our new members who are legit and just entered the forum at the wrong time.

At any rate, it's time for me to get back to work. I have decided to make some minor changes to my approach to the game as well as my use of the message boards. No I am not leaving the BJ message board community, but I am going to revert back to my original purpose of visiting these sites, increasing my knowledge and improving my game and move away from the social aspect of it, which I have enjoyed and it has filled a void in that area of my life (not being able to talk blackjack with friends), but I have just shared to much info and experiences which have no doubt left me vulnerable. So I will continue reading daily, and posting regularly and hopefully contributing, but I am going to limit myself strictly to the blackjack and card counting topics that are most beneficial to me and am going to be more discreet and a little less open and sharing of details on the open board.

My continued appreciation for all the members of this site and for managemnet for making it possible. :)

Good idea KJ!!!! Get yer arse back to work!!!! Also I finally took notice of your signature!!
Nice one,,,,,but with the price of gas I would suggest vegas as the most efficient place to play BJ now, with them 100 casino's or so all clumped up , just waitin to be picked clean..:)
FWIW it was a decent discussion. Take care

Well sh*t! There goes my day. Dude it's the best/smartest move for you I'm sure but we all will be weaker without the social KJ. There are a few posters that I look for every day and you are one that is at the very top of my list. I am humbled by your intelligence, approach and class. So for the stories that we don't get to hear I wish you the best :(

Because they are out to get us!

Sev is right. Given your livelihood depends on your anonymity, it is a smart decision. There's no question casino personnel do read these forums and sometimes put 2 and 2 together. Same is true about AP get-togethers.

Kewljason, if you play, you're gonna get backed off sometimes. Don't let it get you down. We know you're one of the real good guys!

Odd, I received a ten year ban just a few days back as well. This hasn't happened in a long time. To be honest, I was beginning to think I was untouchable. Even more interesting, I was banned from the entire property, poker included. In another time I would have been flattered, now it has vexed me to no end.

What can I tell you?

Best,
Syph

TEN years, huh... Why did they stop there? I mean BernieM copped 150 years for stealing from friends. He might have deserved it. But 10 years, gee. So they finally woke up what a threat to their bottom line you really are... :whip:

BTW simian references here go on Automatic... :)
PS, when are you eligible for parole?

Don't blame the site or your socializing for the situation you found yourself in.

You may note that I had told you that you had given out enough little tid bits over time that I could probably ID, find, you rather quickly, but then again I spring from ancestors that were noted and skilled trackers, something most casino workers surely are not.

I have my own feelings about what generated that peculiar incident, but I will keep them to myself.

My serious advice to you is to relax, post with more care, and get yourself laid!

You have my sincere condolences, I know the feelings you are experiencing.

If you care to PM me I am very interested in the peculiarities surrounding this 10 year banning.

That is awesome! At least there is hope at the end of the (ten year) tunnel!

I am not blaming the site, nor anyone for my situation, CP. I take full responsibility for things I could and should have done better, but inevidibly, back offs will still happen. It's just part of the game. I know many take them in stride. I guess I take them a little harder, because I try so hard and have developed a plan of attack, specifically to minimize them.

I don't use this site as a dating site, big cat, but since you offered....be sure and look me up when your in town. :gaga:

It's never a good idea to give much personal or specific information on this site.

I've ID'ed 2 forum members who happened to be at the same table as me, just from reading their posts over time.

For example, KJ, is your name really Jason? (Don't answer that!)

Thats pretty crazy. I wonder what sorts of things tipped you off that they were one of the forum members here.
