Red seven

Since I have had nothing but bad feed back on my simple way of betting of raising my bet on any plus count ,Pogo is changing to red 7 . My betting was simple because of the $1000 BR. $10 -c &15 any +c & $25 according to penetration +c. No heat! felt good & most of the time would come home a winner, not a lot & even if I lost ,counting the comps I felt like I still came out ahead. Thanks to this board ,I am changing to red 7 & dealing out of 6 deck shoe I am starting my count at minus 6 instead of min 12. I know what you are saying WHY? > Remember , I only take $1000 to play with. Pogo going to get in the sauna & think about this some more. LOL

Well, I won't argue the finer points of KO compared to red seven, but I do wonder why having only $1,000 would tempt you to begin your count higher than recommended? Don't you want to be accurate as to when you have the appropriate count to risk max bet? The fact that you have only $1,000 should encourage you to conform as closely as possible to recommended guidelines. Also, you will be at greater short term risk than you once were with the system that everyone pooh-poohed. The variance you will encounter from time to time at max bet will easily wipe out that small bankroll. I would not try red seven unless that $1,000 br is readily replenishible. In the words of Dirty Harry, "[Y]ou've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya...[pogo]?”

Thank's Aslan> If I can shave the house edge just a little, I feel good about it ,but staying at the $10 waiting to overcome -12 house edge alone would wipe me out & the variance could send me home in no time. You guys play to win, while I play for fun & comps. Thank's POGO

You can take a red seven or KO count and tailor it for fun by cutting back your max bet spread. I don't see that starting to bet higher (before you reach an actual advantage) will save you money. The negative count you start with at red seven is not a true count of -12, it's an artificial count designed to eliminate the need to do deck estimation and division. If you start at a higher count you will be raising your bet prematurely and thereby risk losing more than if you started at the recommended count.

Instead of changing your starting point, why not adjust your pivot point to begin betting. I begin at -12 and start bumping my bets at about -2 or -3, which is somewhere between +1 & +2 TC. That way all the suggested indices for Red 7 remain intact.

With so many municipals on the verge of bankruptcy? I like stocks better. Only thing is, I'm out of money.

Why not bet $5 and wong out if needed?

You should begin your bet ramp at -1 anyways. Snyder recommends 1-16 spread for 6D game using R7. You likely aren't getting enough money down to get any kind of advantage.
