Red7 and the strategy trainer question.

#1
Hi there, I thought I saw this question on here before but since I cant seem to find it I am going to ask it again so here goes. I use Red7 and have used both trainers(java and flash) in 6 deck mode. Now with normal red7 in this instance I start counting off the top at -12 with a pivot of 0. Now Ive counted and played through 7 shoe's and never came close to 0 let alone +1 up. If this is so I never had any advantage and I flat bet through the whole thing. I normally hover between -9 to -23. Is this normal or am I missing something? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Reminds me of some afternoons I've spent at the casino.

I wouldn't say your experience is abnormal at all. I would say that 7 shoes is not much of a sample. I don't know if 70 shoes would be enough of a sample, but it would be a start.

silent,

I don't use red-7. I use ko which is similar. I practice on cvbj so not familiar with those two practice programs you speak of. what I do know is if you are not moving past +1 after 7 shoes something is not right. thats only a difference of 13 points and thats not much for a running count system at 6 decks. you might check the settings for the practice program you are using. many of them allow you to set the deck to favor negative counts for instance. I'm only guessing as to the reason but unless you are playing against a funny deck I would have questions about those results.

I would also agree with canceler that 7 is not much of a sample, but from experience with practice and in a real casino I would say about 1 in 3-4 shoes result in never having the opportunity to raise a bet due to the count. so after 7 seems like you should have some opportunities to lay out more money.
