Has anyone ever talked his/her way out of a backoff? What method did you use? Suck up, blackmail, etc.

I've seem the flash strobe of a camera taking pictures as you enter their parking garage. Need I say more.jaygruden said:On a related note, I was backed off and the casino manager called me by my first name. I play unrated and this was my first BO so they didn't get my name from another store. Now I'm thinking it's possible that they asked one of the dealers or PB if they knew my name as I had been in this place several times and at least a few people knew my first name but it wasn't common knowledge.
My other theory is that they ran my plate numbers off of my vehicle to ID me. Is this legal for them to do?
I am hoping that a dealer was asked and just told them my first name. If they ID'd me from my plate number then they also know my last name and address which could then be shared with other stores. :flame:
is it legal to see something with your eyes and use the information? loljaygruden said:....

just guessing here, my two cents would be that having kept up with the best personal comportment strategy before the imminent back off, might give one the best odds for 'talking' down an imminent backoff. whatever, i'd think that if they liked you in the first place, the harder it would be for them reach a backoff decision.21gunsalute said:I'm sure this advice is all well intentioned, but that's not what I asked for. I'd like to know if anyone has ever successfully talked their way out of a backoff. That's the information I'm looking for, not advice on how one should handle a backoff. I know it's been said over and over again here to just leave quietly, but I'd like to know if anyone has ever taken the opposite approach and succeeded.
No. Never even tried but I have been pretty successful at avoiding them.21gunsalute said:I'm sure this advice is all well intentioned, but that's not what I asked for. No, I didn't try to and have never heard of anyone who did.21gunsalute said:I'm sure this advice is all well intentioned, but that's not what I asked for.
