To Any & All Casino Staff

You should have figured out reading these boards that the vast majority of posters are no threat. They either have small banks, are part timers, spread out thinly all over the world or are destined to lose. Don't waste your time thinking there is some vast competent army of APs that are going to crush your casino. Casinos make a lot of money from pseudo card counters.

Doubt me?
Search some of the first posters on this site, many of them are gone because they probably lost all their money. Within a few posts one should be able to tell if they will ever be a threat or not. Most of the time the answer is no!

Your life will be better served by going out on a date or playing with your kids.

The thing is, no one needs to quit posting, and kj has acknowledged that. What you do need to do is to be very careful about tidbits of info here and there that paint a profile of something very important-- the identity of a dangerous AP, the identity or whereabouts of a team that is currently playing, a game that you have been beating for years, the location of a dealer/flasher, a casino/dealer with a weak shuffle, a game with a player advantage, etc. etc. etc. IOW, be cool.

Surveillance people are APs playing for the house:devil:. They have just as much fun as you and I in the "cat and mouse" (or in your case, panther and feral hog...ugh!) aspects of the game. Just as in everyone's chiding the casinos for dumbing down their games:(, which in essence lowers their bottom line, chiding them for paying attention to posters on this and all the other forums, is only going to go in one ear and out the other:sleep:.

APs do what APs do-- play, and learn to play, at an advantage...and likewise, surveillance people do what surveillance people:devil: do-- surveil, and learn to surveil, APs. To do so, APs and surveillance people alike, go to the only two places where their credentials take them-- casinos and online forums (and of course, lest we forget, THE BASH, which I have on good authority is surveillance-free; there was a rumor that a member of the surveillance community was back-roomed:eyepatch: at one of the past Bashes, but that remains an unconfirmed rumor.)

So I say, "Enjoy the Forum. It's a great place to be. But treat it just as you do the blackjack table, play as if the eye is always watching you. Sometimes he is, and even if he isn't, he can always pull up all your old posts and study them, if he thinks you're messing with his turf." :whip:

Eh, the whole idea of some wacky surveillance guy spending boatloads of his free time sifting through this to pick up on possible APs is stretching it. Sure the casinos don't pay him enough, he would just prefer to go home, and relax with the family, or have a beer with friends, etc.,. And I doubt casinos pay surveillance guys to monitor the internet on the job. They actually have to work and doin' sum actual surveilling.

Now, a surveillance guy who counts, and there could be more of these people then I think, would spend hours of his time on this site, and would be more of a threat. The only good thing about such a person, is that they're somewhat part of the fraternity, and might not be so hard up on nailing every AP he can.

Lie a little. There's ways of getting across the truth without being entirely truthful. You've also created misdirection and added additional work for the bogeyman surveillance monitoring this board.

Also if the admins of this site really wanted too, they probably could figure out ways of figuring out who might be a surveillance monitoring type ;)

Might not exactly be a true statement. The casino just didn't discriminate when all of the unemployed blind people applied for jobs.:laugh:

To KJ, and actually everyone on this site:

Don't give information about exactly how you play. Saying you wong shoes is ok, but me saying I run this betting spread, and do this to wong out, etc. is too much info.

And absolutely NEVER give out info on how you use camo in public. There's lots of stuff that can be discussed offline with friends, but be careful what you put in public.

when i used to be into phones, there was an AT&T security guy who would lurk on all the popular conferences and bridges in his spare time. he would randomly try to bust people or drop personal info about someone. he wasn't paid to do this, he was just mental and got off by harassing people.

the security industry tends to attract that sort of person.

Yep, there can certainly be the occassional crazy loser out there. But for most of those surveillance guys, I think they might be able to relate to this. It was from an episode of the TV show "Friends" - don't ask me why I was watching it:

"a gynecologist Rachel meets and flirts with at the hospital... Rachel is very hot on the doc until he points out why his profession puts off women. He relates it to Rachel's being a waitress who has to serve coffee all day. He asks her if there aren't days where she just doesn't come home and say, 'If I have to see one more dang cup of coffee...' and the romantic buzz was killed."

You beat me to it, was thinking about this yesterday night, as it didn't sound quite right.

I have no idea what they do in that surveillance room, but I am pretty certain they won't do that. It just doesn't add up in my mind. I can't fathom what info on this board is so pertinent that they would need to post it on the wall in the surveillance room. Unless somebody mentioned the time and location and the attendants of the BJ Bash.
I have been reading this thread and find it absolutely hilarious that a surveillance room would be hanging up posts on a wall and additionally half of surveillance people do not get paid all that great, Gamblor is right, they would rather leave the job at the job when they go home.

We'll miss you around here, kewljason!

I understand what you're saying about the addiction thing. ANY habit can be taken to excess. (I might be a skiing addict.) When I see members of message boards, and I don't just mean blackjack message boards, with thousands of posts to their names, I think it's a little scary.

Think carefully about what you might have done to allow others to link your name or face to the kewljason handle. Yes, we do have to be careful about posting details of events in the casino.

I have never met KJ, but I hope to in the future. That being said I think everyone plays differently, lives differently, and can play however the hell they want.

Most people on this forum spend way more time posting here than actually playing but still think they can give advice to everyone else.

Good luck KJ! If you do write a book one day I want to reserve the first copy right now! :)
