Yesterday there was a Vegas marathon on the Travel Channel were they had lots of shows about comps, best games to play, worst games, etc...
Anyway at the end of one of the shows Anthony Curtis and Max Rubin start arguing over how an "average" gambler who comes to Vegas for fun should play.
Curtis said they should play games with low house edges and avoid sucker bets, while Rubin said in the short term it doesn't matter so they should just have fun and do whatever they want.
They then had a "challenge" where they both had $25 to use on each game (Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Slots, Video Poker and Baccarat) to see who could make the most (or lose the least).
Curtis played things like the pass line, Red/Black in Roulette, and Video Poker. Rubin played things like "Yo" bets, the Tie Bet in Baccarat, and some crazy 8-line deuces wild.
Curtis walked away with $65 or something around that due to his leaving games when he was down a lot and winning around $40 in Craps on the pass line w/odds.
Rubin lost the $25 in every single game except at the very end he won $80 playing Deuces Wild so he won the challenge.
I thought it was interesting!
