Checked out The Rivers Casino Saturday night from 11:00PM - 1:00 AM.

Majority of tables are CSM, sprinkled with some 8D shoes. $50.00 minimum tables were NMSE. Seats availabe at $25.00 minimum tables. Most $15 tables were full with an occasional seat available. Was thinning out at 1:00 AM

High limit room $100.00 minimum, six deck, one $25.00 minimum with full table.

I don't usually play the 6D-8D game, prefer to play 2D elsewhere. Just went to see the activity, etc.

The CSM $15 tables were all full!

Was in Pittsburgh this weekend for a football game. I visited Rivers on Friday night. All the tables were $15 minimum. I found an AP opportunity by sitting next to a newbie who refused to double down or split, even after I encouraged her to do so with her own money. She wouldn't double 11 vs 6, or split aces. She always asked for advice. I doubled and split for her when it was right to do so and won a majority of those bets. I wonder what the house edge is for someone who plays BS but never doubles or splits. Scavenging itself would be a higher advantage than counting. I made enough to cover my trip expenses and then some, and I kept a $2.50 blackjack chip as a souvenir since I'll probably never go to Rivers until I'm in Pittsburgh again. Didn't feel any heat even when I wonged in and spread from $15 to 2 hands of $150 each (only did that max bet once when the TC was +11 near the end of the shoe and I pushed on that hand), and when I doubled and split for the ploppie. I didn't care if I got backed off since I'm not returning.

Most of the tables were CSMs as earlier described. The shoes were 8D Pennsylvania rules, 1.5 decks cut off with a notch in the shoe, the penetration was the same for each table. I'd think it's playable for a local.

On Saturday morning before the game which started at noon, there weren't as many people. Most were $10 minimum. I decided not to play since it was hard to concentrate, as many of the people there were people that were going to the football game. I got a free parking voucher from my play on Friday to park during the game Saturday so I didn't need to meet a minimum amount of play on Saturday. I liked that there was a free soda fountain for everyone, something I haven't seen in any of the other casinos I've been to. I could get a free soda without making a single bet.

After the game, the line to get in the casino to get my car from the valet was long. Someone remarked that they must be giving away free money because of the long line. They had to check everyone's ID, and checked mine again even though I had a wristband from earlier in the day.

Dude, you guys are all on the wrong page, I was in rivers casino last month for about 12 minutes, during which time I assessed the situation as a waste of my time and immediaty consulted google to find the meadowlands casino in washington PA a short drive from there. This casinso is the most exploitable casinos I have ever set foot in, I have no idea why you woudl ever want to attempt to play at rivers when meadowlands is so close.

Please tell us more about the Meadowlands. Aren't PA rules set by Harrisburg? Is it the Pen? Minimums? Double Deck?

I think that depends a LOT about the level of your play.

1. The store is hurting on table games. In last week's paper there was an article on Meadowlands, noting that they were making only 2.4 mil monthly revenues on tables (lots of tables). I would guess this makes them more sensitive to watching the tables. Betting levels are low unless you go into the (usually empty) HL room.

2. Many CSMs, I played briefly on a shoe - when I spread from 1 to 4 greens the dealer looked around nervously for a PB. She didn't like that at all...

3. There IS an exploitable opportunity there that I saw, but on a different table game, and it's probably easier for a local with time on their hands to take advantage of.

Same rules. But the Meadows uses 6 decks while the Rivers uses 8 decks. Penetrations depend on the dealers. Sometimes 0.5 decks left (only in the Rivers casino). Sometimes 2 decks left (both). But 1.5 decks left is the most common. However, there is one aspect the Rivers trumps the Meadows: the pit bosses in the Rivers don't give the players any heat. It seems that they are instructed to watch in the distance while pit bosses in the Meadows watch you play like hawks. Also, because the Rivers is in the city, it is ploppies central. They lose so much money so the caisno doesn't watch out the counters.

However, both casinos have 66% of tables use CSM and 33% use ASM. So it is not easy to get a seat at ASM tables. Most of the times you need to wait unless it is graveyard hour. Also, the table minimal is $15 most of the times. You can find $10 tables only in early afternoon on weekdays and maybe in early morning on weekends.
