Some time ago in one of my local casinos i discovered a game called Russian Poker. It's similar to Caribbean Stud, however has some additions that may be advantageous for players:
- you can exchange 2-5 cards or buy 6th card for your ante
- if you have three of a kind or better, you may take insurance (stake up to half of your possible win), which is paid 1:1 if player doesn't qualify
- your hand may be divided into 2 qualifying hands and get double paid, for example AKQJT9 has its bet paid 8 to 1 (4:1 for A-T straight and 4:1 for K-9 straight), second hand may be worse than dealer's hand
- if dealer does qualify and your hand is better then your bet is paid as in paytable (same as car. stud paytable), ante pushes
- if dealer doesn't qualify, you can change dealers highest card at cost of your double ante
- you may play a single hand only, however staff doesn't make problems if you look into another players cards
Simple question: is it beatable, or is it any "basic strategy" for this game?
Wizard of Odds doesn't have it listed...
