Cookbook is good for learning the techniques of shuffle tracking, the betting strategies on the other hand don't work, and you will end up loosing money
Is "balls" good or bad under this usage?

Bad. It's just not worth the hassle for the most part. All the time you spend finding vulnerable shuffles could better be spent just counting with good conditions.

I disagree that it is in fact "balls"
while it may be difficult to acheive a usable result with shuffle that are mroe complex, it is still possible a fair percentage fo the time to gain some information for the next shoe by following cards through evna complex shuffle.
I view more complex shuffles as having a lower probability of a successful track since clusters of cards are often broken up, or diluded very heavily.
It is still possible some percentage fo the time to gain an edge from your efforts in any shuffle.
I dont declare myself an expert though, or maybe i am and i dont know it. Thats just the way i see it.
Even a comlex shuffle if done by a dealer that is hasty and sloppy can become very exploitable.

Really wouldn't bother - not all that great. Get the cookbook if you want something, it's got everything that George C's book has and a lot more.

The problem with tracking complex shuffles is that you could be wrong. And if you're wrong, then you're exposing your self to needless risk or even massive -EV.

Well lets say that The only casino close to you has a very simple shuffle. Would you shuffle trackers out there say its worth your time?

DEFINITELY. If you can find the easy shuffle, you're foolish to NOT exploit, even if it is as simple as cutting low cards out of the shoe.

For the shuffle trackers out there what kind of EV do YOU expect from your game compared to just counting.

I'm going to look like a bad player for saying this, but I don't know. I raise my minimum to account for missing low cards if i cut a low slug out, or if i track a rich slug, i bet big in that 1 or 1.5 deck playzone. If one round last shoe was all aces and paint, when i see them start to come out, i bet the farm next couple rounds, worked well for me so far. And in the latter of course ALWAYS TAKE INSURANCE.
