These two versions of electronic BJ are in a new casino (racino) that opened here recently.
Hoosier Park in Indiana.

The rules vary slightly between them with the Digideal being slightly more advantageous ...

I am studying and practicing my BS for S17 as these are both that.

Any info of experience with these ??

I want my strategy down cold.

And I want to have some counting going on when I start.

You can't count cards on a machine. The problem is that after every hand the computer re-shuffles. You can lower the edge by using basic strategy but you will lose in the long run. The house edge is high but not as high as slot machines. You may be able to hustle some comps but that's about it. The rules stink. BJ pays even money and on most machines you are limited to any double down opportunities.

I'm not familiar with DigiDeal but I would guess it's just like every other computer blackjack game on the market. A total waste of time!

so but anyway if it's the one i was posting about i guess it's pretty near impossible to count. maybe it's like playing a csm that has a lower table min.
i played one for fun. just flat bet and basic strategy. think i played maybe five hands or so. bailed out with after winning $12 ! it was kind of fun but definately scary. real scary like loserville sorta scary.

Bring your BS chart with you,you are allowed. Don't bother trying to count,its a wasted effort.

Save your money. You can't be more than 2 hours drive from one of the riverboat casinos in Indiana where they have real blackjack. Drive past the racetrack and wave as you go to the boat.

PS> one thing that is not stressed enough on this board: The single most important key to counting is -- PENETRATION. You can overcome bad rules, bad limits, bad games -- if they deal deep enough.

Same deck used by all players.

BJ does pay 3 for 2

The digideals rules are even more generous , allowing resplits and re-doubles . I need to recheck but it looked like you could draw more than 1 to split A.

It does look kinda scary .... but not as scary as that digital roulette game !!

I've played several electronic machines in the past and they've all been "lukewarm" compared to a real game in my opinion. They play slowly, the betting limits are often tiny (i.e. $1 - $50 max), and just don't offer a true blackjack experience.

there is one digital BJ game that is countable. i've seen it at one casino in the northeast. you see your own hand and everyone else's. pen and rules are programmed into the game. it lets you know when it is "shuffling" and how many decks. it has a digital discard tray that is useless, but if you counted the number of cards dealt in a shoe, you could get a precise picture of the pen.

i didn't play it for other reasons. but i am convinced it was countable. it was installed in a state that didn't allow table games. everything else about the game was strange, buyins were handled by a real person, who was doing it for 6 tables. it was a nightmare....

That sounds like the Digideal ...

Except each table has its own real person. Thats the one I am thinking about playing as also the rules are slightly friendlier than the Shufflemaster.

Limits are 5-450, 10-450.

It does stop the game when it reshuffles so starting a count from there should be ok.

I went there tonight, not to play, to observe. Too busy for me on weekends anyway. I am hoping Indiana gets real table games in next year .... things move slowly here .... but if there is a taxdollar to be made I have faith they will find it. :grin:

sounds like an electronic game they have here in TN. live dealer and you bet with live chips. you have a monitor in front of you and the dealer "deals" your cards by touching the screen. not sure if it's countable or not. i'd like to get some more info on it before i sit down...

I played a similar machine, shaped like a table, 6 years ago at Aqua Caliente outside of Palm Springs - same owner as the Spa - and I found no appreciable difference between it and a physical-cards-based game. zg

If are talking about Royal Match from ShuffleMaster or other like that, is impossible to count because tha game doesn't shows the shuffle or said how many cards are still in the shoe.

True .... the Shufflemaster Royal Match claims to have a 2/3pen on a 6d shoe .... but you dont know when that starts !

The Digideals ... which have slightly more favorable rules, concerning resplitting and doubles, does stop and reshuffle while you are playing ... much like the trainer on this site ... so I can start the count from there.

This is the one I am going to play ....

Also play goes relatively slow on these .... which is a good thing right now ... for learning my count ... and slowing my losses :grin:

A real game would be better ... and I may go that route after I feel ready ...

But since the travel and overhead to me are ZERO on the local games I think its a good place to learn and get used to playing ...

But i try to keep an open mind about such things ... and if I see there is no point to it I will re-evaluate my plans .

I guess be getting a general feel for it ....

That is to say if I feel my game is good and/or improving, and I am able to count ... with the distractions and noise and keep track and vary my betting with the count and feel that it is making a difference ..... an intuitive sort of thing ....

Which I realize must be taken with a grain of salt, and dosen't tend to prove anything ... except in my own mind. Which can be my toughest sell sometimes ....

I guess what I am saying is it seems like a good place to put into play these things I have been learning and practicing ..... without involving a lot of traveling and such ... and who knows ?? I might even make a buck or two ....
