side count of neutral cards

I was pondering the effects of the neutral cards in counting. Has anyone ever heard of or does know of a count system that utilized a side count of the cards. With a side count of neutral cards would the play on composite dependant hands change. I sorry if I'm being vague here but It was something that I have thought of from time to time. blackchipjim
 
The Advanced Omega II (AO2) recommends keeping a side count of the ace for betting purposes. I do not know of any systems that keep a side count of the neutral, assuming you're referring to 8s & 9s, cards. I don't see the gain that would come from such a thing because the most important side count card would typically be the ace for adjustments.

Keeping a sidecount of more than 1 card is ... a pipe dream.

Hi- OPT II has a Side count of aces for betting purposes and then a side count of 8s and 9s for playing each hand.

Values for hi-opt II are as followed:
2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A 10s
1 1 2 2 1 1 0 0 0 -2

Side counts for 8s and 9s, aka Multi Parameter counts, are used used to improve your PE. Here's an example: You know that the deck has 2 excess eights (for every 1/4 of a deck you should see an 8) and you have a 9 against a dealer 2. This hand according to the MP tables is a 2. Multiply this number by 2 because of the 2 excess 8s and subtract that number (4) from your running count. You have reduced your RC which will make it less likely that you will double down because the excess 8s will play in the dealers favor in getting a twenty with his 2 and downcard. This would have been miss NOT using the MP side count because 8s are neutral in Hi-OPT II.

Yes, it is a little harder to do but no it is not a pipe dream to side count multiple cards. I use Hi-OPT II in SD and 2D games with this and it does help. PE using MP tables with Hi-OPT II is almost close to a 1.0 which is the best PE you can get. Side counting neutral cards IS an advantage and will prove useful if you take the time and have the will to learn it.
 
I fail to see how using MP tables is obsolete. Saying they are complex I can understand, but in SD and 2D I don't see the fault in using side count tables to further adjust and refine your count to better help your PE and BC.

what about keeping a proportional count of 4 ranges. What would that be called?

for example instead of high - low +1 0 -1 to do

how many 2 - 5, 6 - 9 , 10s, As

and then to keep things from breaking into the 20's just decrement you numbers relative to the other counts?

like

round 1: 2 lows 2 mid 2 high 3 ace so count is 0 / 0 / 0 / 1
then round 2 comes out: 0 low 0 mid 3 high 3 ace so count is 0 / 0 / 3 / 4
