Splitting

Is splitting ALWAYS allowed? I haven't seen any rules or strategies to suggest that it's not...

You might occasionally find a video BJ machine that does not allow splits, but every live game I've ever heard of will allow you to split at least once. Some casinos may not allow you to split unlike ten-value cards like queen,king or 10,jack but that won't bother most players.

They do now. A revision to the approved UK ruleset not so long ago allows the house the option of allowing splitting on any two cards. Everywhere I play has allowed this.

IN US casinos splitting is always allowed but the replitting of Aces is not. Depends on the casino.

If you play a variation of blackjack where ties win half your bet you are not allowed to split or double. It is called ties win blackjack. Mathiatically it is actually a very good game for the player.
