A short exerpt from a post by Stanford Wong on the Green Chip "Craps" pages at bj21:

"I got kicked out of Golden Nugget in Las Vegas in the middle of a hand. I had just tossed 3-3 to win a pass-line bet when I got the tap on the shoulder ... Much later, when I returned to my comped room at 10 PM, I discovered that I was also kicked out of the hotel ... "

Hmmmm

Maybe a minor blow to his dice-throwing career, but a BIG boost to his writing career (I suspect Mr. Wong makes a lot more money selling books than from actual gambling). Maybe he paid them to back him off in order to give credibility to "Wong on Dice"?
