Starting a bank

I am starting a bank to play some juicy games over the summer. I am looking for several investors, and I expect the return on investment to be about 25-50% over the next 3-4 months. The minimum investment will be $3k. I am not looking for players currently. I have financials available from my previous team. If you would like references, you can talk to Dyepaintball, Creeping Panther or Pelerus.

Please contact me by PM.

Why not get a loan ?

Loans have to be paid back (unless you declare bankruptcy). Those investing in moo's bank know there is a risk of receiving less than their initial investment back, or possibly receiving none of it back.

Moo,

Respect your posts. Interested. Have met Dye and CP. Good references. Pls PM with details. Would like to consider more like 10K. Will want to meet. Will be in Vegas Mem Day weekend. And I usually use subjects in sentences:)

If you are a good player why do you need investors?

(Serious question that always needs to be asked imo)

An absolutely fair question. I have some stock investments that I really like right now, (one that I consider a near-lock for about 12% within a couple months). I also recently de-leveraged some debt that I had in my personal finances, and started a business that needed working capital.

I will be investing personally on this bank as well.

This is a rather stupid question.

I love the level of defensiveness that's showing to a perfectly legitimate question! If you have been playing a long time and haven't managed to generate a bankroll of your own, that suggests one of several things to me
  1. You're not as good as you think you are
  2. You've been playing mediocre to poor games
  3. You've won, but pissed the money all away either through poor money management off the tables or one of a host of addictions
  4. You're looking to take a free roll on someone elses money

The first point is fairly self explanitory and something that i think most of the online community is guilty of. The second indicates a level of gambling issues, where you'd rather play anything than be out of action. Point three is probably the most relevant issue. When dealing with people who claim to play with an advantage, there is a high occurance of gambling problems. That's something that it's crucial to be aware of. Lastly, some of the biggest names in AP have made careers out of playing on other people's banks. They ramp up the RoR going for a big win, knowing that it's not them who is going to pay the price if it goes wrong.

Moo - i am absolutely not saying that any of this is relevant to you. I don't know you. As such i wouldn't invest in your play, but i also wouldn't want to insinuate that you're dishonest. I am just trying to highlight all of the reasons that anyone considering investing should be asking what could potentially be considered offensive questions.

Personally i wouldn't invest in anyone i didn't know very well personally or at least had referrence for from someone i trust absolutely. On top of that anyone who i hadn't seen demonstrate the relevant skills for the game they intend to attack. Perhaps i'm missing out on a lot of potential EV by limiting myself that way, but i'm also elimenating a lot of downside risk and in my opinion that's worth more.

RJT.
