statistics project ideas having to do with blackjack or card counting

Hey guys, I got this stat project to do for my econometrics class and I want it to have something to do with blackjack, card counting, gambling etc.

I have to estimate a regression equation with 5 to 7 independent variables, run it on STATA using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), and do a whole write up on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What about choosing 9 independent variables (between 0 and 1) to describe a shoe distribution. Then get an exact house edge calculator, giving you exact player advantages for each of those shoe distributions (say, on an infinite deck for simplicity).

Create a 10-level "counting model", and least-square fit your 10 values to the exact player advantages. After the fit, compare your model with the well-established single-level and multi-level counting systems.

Why would you ever want to hint to your prof that your an AP by using such a topic?
