When it is ok to surender if you are using HI-LO?

start here for basic strategy for various games that offer surrender:

then read up on fab four, indices that give surrender indices for hi/lo with respect to tc's

"Fab 4" indicies are usually:

14v10:3
15v9:2
15v10:0
15vA:1

It depends, are we talking early (aside from early surrender against ace you also might run into the more common ES10 rule) or late? Also note that the H17 rule impacts whether you will surrender 17 v A and 15 v A for basic strategy. In addition to john's index plays, which are for a S17 game, you might also want to learn 16 v 8 (surrender at +4) and 16 v 9 (which I believe, correct me if I'm wrong here, is hit at -1 or lower but a basic strategy surrender).

i dunno if i can correct you if you are wrong regarding 16 v 8 (surrender at +4) and 16 v 9 or not.
just can say, that far as fab four, page 213, bja3rded surrender indices, only the ones johndoe posted are listed.
only difference from johndoe's post found on page 213 is:
14vs10 is +3 for 6,8&2 deck, while it's +4 for 1deck
also
15vsA is +2/-1 for 6,8 deck s17/h17
15vsA is +1/-2 for 2 deck s17/h17
15vsA is 0/-2 for 1 deck s17/h17
just learned the above since Don enlightened us that page 213 covers i18 & fab 4 for various decks and s17/h17
